My 2015 German built 2.1l ML is so good that I have never replaced it. Has done nearly 160,000 klm. Paintwork and interior look like new. Has never had a problem. ( Unlike US built ML's ) Still has original front rotors and pads. Rears brakes replaced at 116000klm. Only other replacments have been wiper blades and tyres. Motor was pretty stiff when new as it used to rev at around 1950 at 100kmph in 7th gear on the highway. It now revs at 1700 at 100kph. I do tow with it and never had any problem with lack of power. Always thought that a V6 diesel upgrade would have been a waste of money. Average fuel use over the last 33,000klm is 7.2lt/100klm. Ride is super comforable and handling at sensible speeds it fine. In an emergency maneuver swerving onto the verge of the road and back to avoid a car that suddenly crossed double lines on me, it was scary but easy to control. I have done many 1000kl per day trips here in Australia and the seats are so good that I never end up with a sore/stiff back. Only replacement for it in terms of quality, comfort and reliability seems to be a NX Lexus.
Bought an old 2004 c-class estate for £1000 in 2018. 5 speed auto 2.1td with 120k miles after 150k in 2021 she still going strong & yes I trash her & my doberman loves to chew the headrests. The car has made me go out & buy one soon, the ML250 with the toys & rear cage for the dobby. Mercedes do make a fantastic machine but can it be good as my 25 year old Amazon 4.2td with 190k & the toys of the future still going great. Let the fun begin! Brill review. Regards from Scotland
We take measurements of all cars we test in the same way, so we can make comparisons between all models in different classes. Therefore, this qualifies us to tell people which cars are easier to get in and out of than others. This is a key issue for some car buyers, especially those with illnesses and injuries, justifying why we should inform consumers about ease of access to cars.
I still think that the Q7 can rival both ML and GL. FYI I'm not talking about the new ML or GL because those just came out and the Q7 needs some revisions to update it. But in terms of space and seat number it beats the ML and in terms of price it beats the GL
Do you mean the Lexus GX? Unfortunately that car isn't a rival for the Q7 in the UK as it is not sold here so we could only pit it against what was on offer.
