Love our Ml350. Handles great , amazing get up and go ,grand kids love their TVs. We used to have Mustang Cobras , little different handling. But much easier to get in and out of.. Serves our needs... Works for flower delivery too...
This is another incredible addition to the mercedes benz fleet... I have never owned anything but a MB, can't wait to pick it up and enjoy it with my SL & S class.
@KenGold666 I see your point, but you ignore the fact the Q5 isn't a mid-size SUV such as the M Class but a small size one. Despite they both are 5 seaters, the Q5 is smaller (the ML has way more legroom at the backseat) and its engines are less powerful than those under the hood of the M Class (as far as the europe is concerned, the Q5 starts with a 143 hp diesel while the ML gets a 204 hp diesel as standard). According to me, it would be fair to compare it with the X5 or with the Touareg
As we see, MB has evolutionized the ML class the 3rd time to meet the expectations of customers and ML loyalists and exceed the competiton from german SUV rivals such as the 2012 VW Touareg, 2012 BMW X5 and even the 2012 Audi Q7. This 3rd Gen is a winner, has raised the bar in luxury, power, driver enjoyment, fuel efficiency while maintaining prices within the 2011 units which is good for these economic recession times.
nice review - what are blue tooth capabilities - I would want to stream high quality blue tooth music from my smart phone or other device to the radio - I can do this right now on my ML320 CDI by putting a blue tooth adaptor on the ipod connection but sound quality is mediocre at best. Also does the radio allow for other inputs like an 3.5 mm connection to the radio to also stream music?
I think it depends on where are you planning to use that- if it's town i think it's not necessary. But taking into consideration the difference in costs and difference in engines I think it's worth adding some money into it too. Always it's easier to travel (holidays or skies)
yea, but those were the models in the 70s. From the 1980s onward the Range Rover was in fact a luxury SUV with leather seats, air-con, power everything, and from the latter half of the 80s, air suspension was added. Fact is, the Range Rover was the first luxury SUV. Mercedes started producing plusher versions of the G wagononly from about 1992. Therefore, both RR and Merc's own G pre-date the ML. And let's not even start to talk about the Grand Cherokee, Land Cruiser 80, Trooper LS, Pajero etc
hey nice video but i wanna ask i got my mercedes ben m class yesterday and i was wondering does only specific models have the warm and cool cupholders cause i didnt get one on mine and my version is the gasoline version
ahhh, love australia, love holden, you guys have the sport ute, gm went backrupt and the g8 couldnt come here, you have awesome cars down there, how much of a mark up are they?
The Mercedes B class scored an impressive 97% out of 100% for adult protection, by far the best results i have seen out of all the cars tested by Euro Ncap.
man these things have come a LONG way! I had a 2001 ML55 and that thing was amazing. It just seem like mercedes SUV's are going a bit soft. You agree? I mean My 01 ML55 was a tank, the toughest thing I've drivin but these new ones seem very breakable haha
@djjeetmtl its not up to me, my dad drives the Range Rover and its comfortable but what i hate about it is the milage and every while we get a problem in it. i have audi S4 and im happy with it but dont know if my dad would replace his Range Rover with this ML, i hope tho but dont think so.
The Interior suprisingly looks a lot like an Infiniti, which isnt a bad thing at all but I was expecting a dash board layout similar to the ones found on the new GLK, E-class, S-class and 2012 C-class.
Yes, but the original Range Rovers were not exactly luxurious SUVs like they are now. They were used as work trucks, and used by the military along side the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon.
I took a test drive in a VW Jetta Sportwagen today with a TDI, it has great torque, 1/2 the price of that and twice the mileage...but, if money were no object for me, the ML would be my choice...
Get the diesel? Regular at $3,30 and diesel at $3.96 is not cheaper. The .66 is almost a twenty percent increase while the milage between gas and diesel is much less. My 2011 Cayenne at the 9,000 mile mark is averaging 25 mpg. That's what the computer says and I haven't been able to prove it wrong.
you pay extra for diesel???? and still only get a crappy 25 mpg? In the Uk I have a 2 litre diesel saloon, no cost extra and I get 70 mpg on the motorway and 650 miles in every tank.
The U.S, is a very large country and cars are the best way to deal with our transportation needs. A US gallon is 3.8 liters and as of Sunday diesel was $4.20 while gas was $3.80. That's better than a 10% difference. My Cayenne averages 26 mpg so a diesel has to get 29-30 mpg to match the cost. It won't. Our 2009 Escalade Hybrid got 22 mpg for the 27,000 mles it was owned. That's about as good as the diesel and without the diesel problems.
I understand that. Where I live (Brisbane, Aus) We have all those dealerships except for GMC and Chevy haha. But you gotta admit, German cars are higer quality than US built. (Im not discrediting American cars, theyre brilliant)
Range Rover is before all an off road SUV. It wasn't all that luxurious before. Mercedes came out with an SUV that is before all luxury. Hence why they invented the luxury SUV
@Semperfijo06 LOL! Instead being disappointed you should be proud since Highlander has the best reliablity record among all cars and SUV's. If Merc owners should be driving this car only for it looks like a Higlander that would be enough of a prestige for them.
you're not making any sense. Isn't an SUV, a proper one anyway, first and foremost an offroad vehicle?!! So NO Mercedes didn't invent the luxury SUV... Range Rover did and many other plush SUVs also came before the ML such as the Land Cruiser 80/LX450, Pajero/Montero, Isuzu Trooper/Acura SLX, Jeep Grand Cherokee among others
Looks too Japanese on the outside. That being said it will still perform like a Benz should, will be comfortable, still have control/capability and nice solid build quality.
@Zazmiz well taste aside the Range Rover is the most capable .. by miles... the Lad rover.. being even on Discovery form is a quite capable SUV as well.. not as refined nor luxurious as the Range .. but still very capable.
@MakeLoveNoBabiez Why making a comparison between the M-Class, which is a mid-size SUV, and a Volvo XC60 or an Audi Q5 which are small-size SUV's???; this doesn't make any sense, it's like comparing a VW passat with a jetta.
Happy new year to one & all! The 2012 ML has serious exterior design faults. The headlights are way too small. The grill is too large. Self-absorbed designers too narcisistic to recognise ugliness.
well look at second hand cars. after 5 years they are so cheap its worth to take a look. I personally wouldn't buy it new but thats just a matter of job/money.^^
