Nice to see another review on this car. Mine is a 2013 r. it has a APR stage 2 so the exhaust sounds absolutely amazing very deep tone shakes you to your bones..... not ricey or raspy.

I think i would still go a Golf R just because of practicality and all wheel drive.. but i gotta say that Scirocco looks much better!😍 its a shame its not all wheel drive also..
@@daletopliss1207 I have a stage 1 by RDTechnik , lowered using Eibach springs . Front lip by Maxton considering stage 2 and at least a heavy duty clutch
The Golf R shown is the Mk7 and runs a completely different engine than the Scirocco R. Golf R Mk7 has a Dual port injected TSI EA888 Gen 3 engine. Hence the more power (depending on country) The Scirocco R has the TFSi that runs on a cambelt.
Despite numerous information of it being made out to be 3 door as in a way it is, they are also classed as coupes, so I wouldn't say they were in the same category for that reason alone which is why all the comparisons have the gold version in them. They should've made an AWD version even with the non R models. I've owned my stock 2012 1.4 TSI 122 for couple weeks and love it, but even on stock power an AWD system would suit it,. Obviously the 160hp 1.4 and 2ltr models would suit AWD even more.
1:22 maybe in the mk6 golf but definitely not the same engine as the mk7 onwards. Have to believe its a problem with mounting it in the chassis and its not just VW trolling scirocco fans :(
I’m gonna be buyin the top spec pre facelift version of the scirocco R could it go up in price so you think in time?. Also I test drove a stage 1 scirocco R and was screaming the guy must of thought I was mental lol the speed is dangerous fastest car I’ve ever been in WOW the speed throws you in the back seat and feels like a Ferrari
one love you can upload software into the ECU to unleash the cars full potential. So for example at standard they run at 265bhp, mine is remapped at Stage 1 so mine is at 320bhp. Any remap above Stage 1 (stage 2+ etc) you’ll need to change hardware. But basically the stock engine is capable of A LOT more than the manufacturer allows from factory.

@@MrCamelite It's actually semi automatic. On the DSG you have the option of sriving it fully automatic or when you feel like having a bit of fun, switching it to semi and using the paddles or shifter.
DSG gearbox is much faster than manual. Sure, manual is fun and driver engaging but DSG is much better. I wouldn't call it automatic when it's still a manual gearbox with dial clutch. You don't see people reviewing R8 and lambos with manual boxes do you?
