unrepeatable raddish I know this is old but I can explain even though I don't race lawn mowers. For these kinds of things the actual race is less than half of the equation. There are months and years of engineering your lawn mower into the best possible racing machine. It's more about taking something that goes, and making it go fast. That's what the alure is. Same with any other racing class but most people who aren't into motor sports don't really think of that part.
Ok those guys were cruisin. But don't tell me go karts don't have the power ...How's 60 to 120+ mph sound? Two and four stroke. When I raced in the Junior class I averaged 50 mph ...I was 7 yrs old.
I think a few of these guys work the company I hired to cut my lawn. They're [literally], at my house only between 12-14 mins to cut/trim/blow over a 1/2 acre. Although once a month it jumps to 16 min b/c the edging tends to slow them down. 😄
I'm eventually wanting to race lawn mower's but I'm holding two jobs I'm not quitting them but I still may be able to race them on certain weekends but I also need to know when the racing season is and can I just race at my closest track or do I travel I'm still going to be holding two jobs so I want to race on some weekends I will be working Monday through Saturday but I work 3rd shift at FedEx so I'm wondering if I can race every other weekend so I just have an extra income if I win I'm doing it mainly for fun and a little money if I win so I'm just curious about this stuff and just need to know these things and I can buy a used super modified mower that will be able to compete and can I be trained because I can learn very quickly
Majority of it is lawn/garden tractor frames beefed up and slammed to the ground. Go Karts such as sprint and shifter are designed from the ground up, these are just highly modified mower chassis.
Like with NASCAR it's sad they don't realize that bumper, helmet, hood, door, i.e. *"we can no longer see anything cams"* are annoying for spectators. Possibly the only people who appreciate that view are former drivers who are use to the view; and that's fine except the other 95% watching are not former drivers and would rather see what's really happening between 2-5 competitors vs looking at the ground, or a bumper, door, or a drivers face.
