What is the little black box pin to motor? I think what the my problem is it...If I supply 12 volts with the battery it works, but ordinary don't work..
Would you be able to direct me to the aftermarket push nut that you found? I recently attempted this fix with help from your updated video but broke that washer/nut. Thanks
You should be able to find it at any fastener store. Something like a Fastenal or Brofasco should have one. I can't remember the diameter off the top of my head, but perhaps even Home Depot may have it in your area. I'm pretty sure you can get it from McMaster Carr (online), but it may not be economical to do so.
@@gordfarrow2557 thanks so much for the reply. I was attempting this fix about 2 years ago. I believe I located a similar washer at Lowe's or somewhere but I do notice that the assembly does move more slowly since I fixed it. Perhaps it's the wrong washer causing too much friction. But maybe i try to explain this the best i can first, ( im swedish so excuse my writing ) You have done all thing great so far with assembly , look at the motor , there is a little notch , that notch has been stocked att the bottom , the little pin. As i see it from here it is about level to gasket. So pull of gasket 2 clips careful. you now able to see inside the motor etc.. turn motor around and you should locate a small hole to let you knock the pin out. it stocked but not that hard , find you a small piece to fit . Carefully lnock it out and watch out for to pieces pin and spring , you will se corrosion around the pin and maybe the spring will stocked in the hole. take them out , clean them both and also motor housing. new grease all parts , re-assembly . spring and pin. ( pin different ends , flatside up /out ) and know you will feel suspension of the pin correctly. ( right ? ) back with the gasket , take notice of the pin location who has as flat side , study gasket hole for pin and you see what i mean. mount the gasket and know you should see the notch is above the gasket clearly? That little notch is the key for the this ring we talked about . Each of three steps on bottom of the ring stops at the notch. Continue to re assembly , tricky part will be now when you have mirror placed correctly in position. This is hard to explain to do. The ring should be placed as when mirror is in correct postion , pin hold against an edge of the ring. easiest way place mirror in correct position as you think push an hold it in position by hand , use remote lock and you feel and hear motors running. Still hold it , push open with remote when still hold mirror in correct postion , and bang it snaps in place and stops! ( maybe a few try outs ) but it will work. Don´t forget to open door if you have this automatic lock mode activatet , just open the door to avoid lock mode.. when now mirror is in correct place you can now mount the rest of the pieces . When ready , close the door push remote lock and unlock and feel harmony in your body . Youv done it ! Please let me know that all worked out , take care and wish you the best.
