HI - Great video, thanks for making it. Your ATS must be the 2.0 AWD. You mentioned 6 quarts of oil, and I remember reading that my 2.0 RWD requires 5 quarts of oil. For anyone interested, the required oil for ATS trims are below: 2.0 L4 Engine RWD: 5 qt 2.0 L4 Engine AWD: 6 qt 2.5 L4 Engine: 5 qt 3.6 V6 Engine: 6 qt
This was as good as a video as there could ever be. Your instructions were easy to understand, and you saved us a ton of money. We just recently purchased a 2017 Cadillac ATS Turbo. Thanks for making this video. God Bless ya my man!
@@S.0.G I loved your idea of making a directional removal drawing on the bottom of the filter. Big thumbs up! Here's one of my tricks. Don't have a funnel? Use an empty plastic quart oil bottle. Cut off the bottom. Flip it over, presto! Instant funnel.
Good video, just a few more things to mention. 1.)When you remove the old oil filter make sure the black "O"-ring comes off with it. I have seen the o-rings stay behind stuck to the engine surface, just remove with your fingers. 2 .) When replacing the new filter I pour some fresh oil in the filter to 1/2 capacity so when you are finished and start the engine the oil will begin circulating that much sooner. 3.) When replacing the new filter dip the tip of your finger and wipe around the new o-ring so it doesn't bind as you hand tighten. 4.) DO NOT use a tool to tighten the new filter, HAND TIGHTEN ONLY usually 3/4 to 1 full turn.
Brother I am a new subscriber this is an old video but full of valuable info . Thanks . I got it a question . I have a 2016 Ats but after I got the car I notice the Bluetooth only works to make phone calls it doesn't work for audio or music 😔 so I can't listen to my music only the radio I am not happy with this situation . So I wonder if is there anything I can add that help with the problem before I have to change the radio for a better one I am trying to solve the issue without having to change the radio so do you know anything to do for this issue ?
I appreciate the sub man thank you for your support! 👍🏽 as far as the radio, there's a few things I would recommend: 1) Unpair and delete your phone from your cars memory and then pair it again. Select yes to allow access for Bluetooth audio and contact. Also make sure you don't have any usbs or cables connected to the car while doing this. 2) Double check to make sure there isn't an update to the CUE or your phone that hasn't been installed. 3) Last resort would be to either get it checked out (I'm sure there will be a charge) or buy a Bluetooth transmitter from Amazon so you can still listen to music Hope this helped!
God.Is.Love Enjoyed this video so much, I am subscribing. Also, mind sharing what your MPGs are after your mods? and How is your CUE performing? Thank you. I am interested in this car, and am trying to find out as much as I can. In the future, I will be looking for an ATS4, Which I believe yours is as well.
Kiss Kiss Thanks for the feedback and the subscription! 👍🏽 MPG after mods stayed about the same. I dropped maybe 2 or 3 MPG but only cuz of the way I drove afterwards lol CUE is amazing never had a problem. Does take a sec to start up right away when it’s like 20 below tho but never had screen issues like others report. The AWD system is great and I recommend this car for sure!
You are very careful with your car! Well done! But why don't you use a torque wrench for the oil pan drain plug? Ok, for an experienced mechanic it should be no problem but a beginner could easy overtorque and kill the alumium thread. The plug just needs 25 Nm / 18 lb in , the oil filter 30 Nm / 22 lb in.
itzefitze Appreciate the feedback! And thank you for the info! Torque specs are always the way to go 👍🏼 I guess I have done it for so long I just go the lazy route 😬 lol
ALL CADILLAC ATS's DO NOT TAKE 6 QUARTS OF OIL. 1) The 2.0L Turbocharged 4 Cylinder Takes 5 QUARTS Of 5W30. 2) The 3.6L V-6 Takes 5 QUARTS Of 5W30. 3) The 2.5L Turbocharged 4 Cylinder Takes 6 Quarts Of 5W20. You Put In 6 QUARTS Of 5W30, So Regardless Of Your Engine, What You Did Was Wrong. The ONLY ATS Engine That Takes 6 Quarts Takes 5W20...NOT 5W30. Thus, You're Either Using The Wrong Oil Weight...Or Else You Installed Too Much Oil.
2.0 AWD DOES TAKE 6. RWD models are the ones that take 5. Read your manual, contact a dealer or a simple Google search can help figure out how many quarts. As far as the type, it depends on your areas temperature. Thinner works better in winter, thicker in summer. So no, what I did was correct. But thanks for the information
