Anyone who is having trouble installing the belt due to it seeming like the belt is too tight please read! If you have spent more than 10 minutes trying to install the belt and you feel like it won't fit, YOU ARE RIGHT. I can almost guarantee that it is your belt tensioner. Just due yourself a favor and replace the tensioner as well. I see that this guy has a good video of replacing the tensioner as well. I spent 4 hours trying to replace the belt without the tensioner.
No the car got totaled luckily right before I was going to change it. It’s recommended you do change the tensioner with a belt tho, unless you’re cheap
I ran into a problem replacing the belt so the old one broke off and I got the new oem belt from Nissan the problem is I can’t get the belt to fit around the crankshaft I don’t have enough slack even when I’m pulling the tensioner all the way over and the tensioner bolt is now stripped so I have to use channel lock vise grips to move it over now so I’m not sure what to do anymore
@@tepelena I’ve checked it I took the part number from the old belt and gave it to Nissan and they gave me that belt I even went to part stores like o’rielys and auto one and they gave me a similar belt because I thought the belt was the wrong size as well but every belt that pops up for that car is the right size but for some reason I just can’t get any slack out of the belt when I move the tensioner over which is odd
Update I found out the belt tensioner is bad I can’t push is all the way over to even put the pin in to even give me enough slack so I’m going to replace the tensioner and go from there
@@Beast_Jhony yeah it was the tensioner there’s two notches on it and the tensioner is supposed to slide back and line up with the notch and u can slide a pin in to hold it there well the tensioner wasn’t pushing all the way back to the notch to give me the slack I needed to get the belt on so I had to loosen up the engine mount and jack the motor up to get the tensioner off once I replaced it the tensioner went back to where I needed which is almost fully back and then I got the new belt on
I might've missed if you said it but how long is the belt? Im getting several different lengths from different sources that say they'll fit my 2018 Sentra
