Hi nice review thanks. I went with all the hype and great reviews 2 years ago and bought a Multistrada 1200S touring. Fantastic bike to ride, great looking, comfortable but I had so many problems and warranty issues with it (keyless start, mapping, clutch failure, rear brake failure 3 times, high speed cut out). In the end I decided to sell while it still had its extended warranty left. Question: who will want to buy these super complicated bikes out of warranty? I
HI Tor... Good job... if you have to choose between 1200 base model 2013 or a 1200S touring 2012 more or less for the same price would you get for the 2012 ohlins bike or a 2013 base model without electronic suspension but upgraded engine? Or you will spent every penny for a new S 2013 with skyhook that is so much better than the 2012 S ohlins model? Thank you !! bye from Italy...
cheers for reply. can you explain why panigale wouldn't suit skyhook tor? very keen to get a panigale but a new tech of semi active suspension makes me wonder.
... and in sport riding which one is better? i told many person telling that the skyhook keep the front to high when you enter in a corner with fingers on brakes... and after that you also have less sensibility with the front wheel. Is it true? I want feeling and sport riding performance more than everything...
Hei Tor. Likte du denne sykkelen? Jeg vurderer sterkt en mstrada, men jeg tenker mest på driftsikkerheten. Har en jeg kanskje skal kjøpe, men han har hatt en del problemer allerede etter 25 000 km.
Well... Personally about 7000km / year.. The important thing is the emotion that the engine gives to me. So is the new 1200 more flat and with less punch? If the answer is yes, probably the old 1200 is the best for me. I'm not an old retired but i'm a 29y.o. guy. my last bike was a streetfighter 848 and aprilia tuono v4aprc. So i will choose the old 2012 S ohlins? ;) i'll go with that? ;)) if you have to give a valutation to the old and the new? 8 for 2012 and 10 for 2013?
@korova83 the new engine is better in every way. More power through entire engine range, especially torque which goes up to 91 I believe, better fuel efficiency up by 10%, smooth and precise engine performance in low rpm and slow speed. From the reviews I've read the new engine is exceptionally better. I would get the new multi just for the engine, even without the other near 100 improvements.
