2013 Infiniti G37 Subwoofer install with Bose System 

We live and we learn. I got to be more detailed about my installs and try my best to show everything I do next time. So I went though the factory plug following the main wire harness. Yes I did say "power wire goes through this plug, you LIFT it UP and its on the passenger side". Definitely don't leave your power wire between the firewall and the plug..it goes "through the plug" So to elaborate that! You definitely go through the plug, but you can LIFT it UP to fish the wire through faster. why pull all that wire through a small hole that you potentially made bigger trying to fish a long power wire through. When you are done fishing all the power wire through the firewall, you are left with just a good amount of power wire to run THROUGH the plug after making a small cut. You can add silicone around the power wire and the cut you made on the plug to keep it WATER safe. I figured MOST people would have common sense and realized that I said "power wire goes THROUGH this plug" and when I said "YOU LIFT IT UP" realize wow all that space to run the wire faster. I realized I have to be very very specific. SO we live, and we LEARN, but I am not responsible for anyone attempting this on their own without common sense. As a hvac technician, I mess with wires and hate when it's all over the place. I like to keep a very good wiring management.

Do not lift firewall plug out for installation, make small incision and feed power wire through the hole in grommet. Gonna cause someone to have water leaking into the cabin causing other issues

Writing this on here cause your video inspired me to try this installation on my own. First off, G37 infiniti has a 2ohms sound system so use LO RCA, not high. You use high RCA and splice like you did in this video, you're just getting same response as if you're running 2 ohms LO. Secondly, I thought I could be smart and splice directly into the wires going into the OEM subwoofer, NOPE, even though it has the exact color scheme of wires you're looking for, it is in fact for the stupid silver box under the oem sub - the box is the g37 antenna/gps some-shit or the other (and they decided to install it right under the oem subwoofer - dah fu?). Thirdly, there's several blue and violet paired wires on that brown plug going into the oem amp that you showed, the one that peeps are looking for is in the middle by the black wire not the outside/easy to access wires. Fourthly, if you have trouble like me and your center console doesnt want to come on after installing sub wires, look to the Audio Fuse next to your battery, as it probably blew like mine. If you want to know what kind of subwoofer to get, look for ones that range in the 300 to 600 watt category, the Rockford ones are bad to the bone and you get amazing sound and push out of little power.

Hey @xillerated LOVE THE VIDEO. I have a 2013 g37 sedan in black just like this one. You think I could install a small sub without an additional amp? Trying to avoid running a power cord if possible. You think the pre amp would be powerful enough to run another sub in addition to the bsoe one?

Yo this video helped me a ton but how do I know what my left and right is I have a speaker with a built in amp that has a 4 point input and it has two yellow wires and two black how do I know the difference from left and right

You have a 12inch subwoofer and 10inch tube linked to this video. Looks like you only used the 12in, where does the 10 come into play? That a secondary suggestion?

In the wiring harness there's 2 identical violet wires and 2 identical light blue wires. It's not clear to me which ones I need to tap from your video or from the g37 forum. Hoping for some clarification.

Can I add 2 subs and do this same method? All you’re doing with the wires going to the factory amp is just tapping into the speaker wires and the remote wire right? Could I get like ~1000rms subs and amp? Or does it have to sit in a certain rms range?

hey man, i’m using the Kicker Kisloc2 that has remote wire built in. if i’m not mistaking… the remote wire from the converter goes straight into the amp, right? and splicing into the remote wire isn’t necessary

Yo homie not sure if it was asked but do you leave the harness unplugged? Because I can't get any sound. The amp is wired to the fuse box, turns on just fine, and subwoofer is reading its proper ohm rating. I'm just scratching my head after so many splices lol

In that rear plug where the cables are. Are all the outputs of speakers ?

So u pretty much just hooked up neg&pos speaker wires from the harness & a remote to the neg&pos wires on an amp to the box, isn't the bose amp still hooked up too, so u have two amps? The 2nd amp won't blow the rear speakers I wanna pound shit not just bump my trunk a lil jaja thanks

No amp required

Cut a small hole into the grommet. Do NOT lift it. Lifting it can easily cause your wire to get cut up on the wire wall metal and short out. And of course, if you shoet out your wire, you not gonna have a fun time. Instead, cut a small hole into your rubber grommet and send it threw there. Then send your wire through the grommet. Keeping it surrounded by rubber will keep it from getting damaged by any nearby metal.
