This is totally awesome information. The detail was outstanding. Giving your opinion based on your recent trip experience was fantastic. I completely understand what you are saying when it comes to you tubers giving their opinions without facts to support their advice. Well done and received. I look forward to more of your educational RU-vid videos. From Arizona
Thanks for your review this Lexus towing information. Yes your right there is very little info on these SUV'S and towing. I'm from Adelaide South Australia and just purchased a new 21 RX 350 which has 230 kws of powerand have spent months on research on all the facts on towing safely. Our models here get anti trailer sway control fitted standard but these models only have a 1500kg tow limit which is fine as I'm towing a small pop top caravan with a tare weight of 1208 kg and we normally load 150kg to 180 kg and the RX tows this absolutely fine. With a few hills and mainly flat most places we go and our speed limits are lower than yours I normally get 14 - 16 litres per 100 km which is ok. Thanks for your time to put this on YT and you've probably done a better job with the camera than me. Hope this helps someone one, Thanks mate from Australia.
The RX350 handled that load with no problems. The vehicle has an actual transmission and a 6 cylinder engine. You could pull weight like that every day.
I'm about to tow 2000lb from fl to Ca about 2400miles. Thank you for the video I have a 2011 rx350 FWD it has a pretty decent power but i wouldnt tow anymore
Great video, I'm about to move 400km( 250miles ) away, I'm renting 4x8 enclosed trailer and will be towing with my 2010 rx350, the load will be about as much as yours, 1000kgs/2200lbs. Was looking for hitch/ball/wiring harness. Seems like u-haul got everything in stock. Your help very much appreciated! Thank you!
Great video, I have the 2010 RX 350 and planning to drive with a Uhaul from Tampa FL to Clarksville TN. my cargo wouldn't even reach the 1000 lbs capacity I hope things don't go bad!
@@markgeller440 I love my Lexus but there is one thing that always bothers me, the combined MPG is 18 to 19, I wish it had a better fuel consumption. thank you!
@@markgeller440 Sure, hopefully by end of April it will all be done, just looking to get a hitch installed on it, Uhaul quoted me just looking for alternative options. but I will post it here for others :)
Good evening sir , thank you 4 sharing , my wife and I plan on driving from florida 2 Washington state , in her 2008 rx 350 we are getting the tiw package put on this week , we were planning on pulling the uhaul 4x8 enclosed trailer , did the trailer u pulled have any "wagging" or fish tailing , what was the maximum speed did u feel comfortable at ? Thank again 4 sharing this valuable info ,
Make sure you pack the trailer properly and you should have no issues. I would think if you want to do 75-80 in the flatlands you won’t have any problems. Remember I didn’t do any true mountain driving only the “hills” in Florida. Does you RX have the Lexus tow package on it, mine does. I read pros and cons about it being a benefit. It does add an external transmission cooler. Cruising along at about 70 on cruise control I got about 14.5 - 15 miles to the gallon max. Gotta believe going faster the gas mileage is gonna go down. Hope you have a safe trip and give me an update here when you’re done with the drive.
