Very helpful, I have a 2012 Outlander with a dead blower fan, the garage thinks it will be a major job to strip out the dashboard, but this has given me the confidence to sort it myself
Good vid. Thanks! We're all in the same boat brother. Gotta fixit ourselvs. I've got a newer Mitty. But thought the exterior has changed, the fundiess havent
Just an FYI.. I was setting out side of the wife's doctor's office yesterday and watched this vid. I didn't have tools with me but did have a can of WD40. I thought.. I can get to that vacuum hose with it still in the car. The fan was barely blowing so I shot some in, it got a little quiter and faster so I did it again.. same ..so with my head under the dash I gave it a 3rd shot, smelt something.. looked up and smoke was boiling out of the vents, look back down and I have flames under the dash. The housing had melted and set the paper tag on fire.. I got it out before damage was done..lol.. be sure to unbolt the blower before doing this.. new blower motor on its way from Amazon for like $30.. the old ones toast
Thank you. My blower motor was doing the same thing. It started knocking and eventually died all together within a day. I've never done such work. Hopefully everything goes well.
I got the exact same noise and recently replaced cabin filter and was filled with dirt and leaves. Definitely not the same situation with yours like the mice. Any idea what it would be if the sound which sounds the same is coming more from behind centre dash?Hoping it's just something in it 🤞🏽
Not sure. The motor does make the dash rattle some when the bearings are going. I don’t think you can see up the vents without pulling the motor but maybe something could be in the vent.
@@lkc06040 When I got down thinking it might be the cabin filter I recently replaced I took out glove box and turned on can hear the noise and still have and get heat gonna check fuse and blower if I can get to it and check it first go from there I guess idk 🤔
@@lkc06040 Thanks for getting back. Fortunately for myself after watching your video got to the blower motor and as soon as I pulled it out had a piece of foam stuck through the side cleared it and some leaves out and blows hot fast and now can't even hear it running at all. Thanks again 😎
What’s the white hose for ? The 2017 has a different casing and the replacement came with a white hose instead. It’s working fine but The white hose is just hanging there now. Is it that big of a deal?
I’m not familiar with the 2017 model or if it is the same but I think the white hose may have been for vacuum change the air flow settings but I’m not sure
