Hey Adam, I have a RAM 1500 Sport 4x4 on order with the air suspension. I ordered it 02/08 and it was delayed by a full month due to some issues with it. I've been told on ramforum dot commerce, that the handling with the AS is improved at that it handles flatter in the corners. To be honest, I just wanted to try it out. IMO, when you get out of the vehicle, you lock it and then lower it so that when you come back, it's good to go! Great review Grant!
You have complete control over any of the 8 forward gears by up and down dedicated press buttons on the right side of the steering wheel. Very convenient and you adjust to it the first time you drive the truck. The 8 speed transmission shifts so smoothly, you really do not feel it.
I am about to place my order for a new truck and am torn on the air suspension. I understand that it does take a bit to raise and lower but some have said the ride is much nicer than without it. I guess any other feedback you can give as to why you would or would not recommend it would be appreciated. Great review.
Nice video, but why no mention of the air ride? It looked to be equiped with it. By the way for the city slicker you could always go with the Limited trim line. Same options but with a contempory look. Very nice truck either way!
nice review. I noticed you didn't mention the new air suspension they have, which would help with your wife getting in and out. does your truck not have that because of the trim level or is it available on all models as a option?
Good tour, but not really a review. You showed the new features but provided no commentary. What's it like to drive? How's the handling, performance, braking? I don't care about coolers.
Hey grant. I just baught a Dodge ram 1500 2005 srt 10 v8 5.7 lt hemi. The Guy that sold it to me said it runs fine. But it has a hemi nock!!! I took it to a Dodge ram service center and they said the engine isint the original. They said its a 4.3 v6 from a blazer. How is this possible??? Please help.
***** They said they didn't change any body panels from 2013 to the 2014 RAMs because they wanted to keep the nice big rig looking style, they did however change the Air-Dam (lower black plastic lip under the front bumper). Most stuff was economical, and mechanical, like Grill shutters, side-steps, air-suspension etc. the front part of the frame is 30 pounds lighter than previous on the 2014 models.
Well in comparison, there a very minimal changes in appearance when you compare the 2009-2012 and 2013-2014, so there may be a refresher coming soon, Ford is changing its F-150 look in 2015 so I would most likely say within 2 years they'll change, but don't take my word for it. Many people don't like this look, I think it's great and would really hope they would deviate from this look, maybe just upgrade panels to lighter but stronger materials.
Jeremiah Hill exactly thats the thing. ford is changing their truck so i think they will change as well.. guess i'll just wait a year or so n things will be more clear.. thanks anyway ;)
It may be a preferential thing, I wouldn't mind test driving a RAM with a shift-knob. Some rams do come with a 6-speed and it has a shift-handle transmission but the TorqueFlite 8-Speed transmission is optional (8-Speed is standard with the shift knob)
Jeremiah Hill I guess I best tell you what models come with the 6-Speed Shift Handled transmission. Both the RAM 1500 Tradesman and RAM 1500 Express 5.7L V8 4x2 and 4x4 can come with a 6-Speed transmission.
