I did replace it with a stealership sensor but lo and behold I uninstalled everything to check on the sensor, I have another issue. I noticed the 3 wires on the connector plug to the pressure sensor was cracked exposing the inner wiring, so I figured I’ll get a new plug, but when I went to unravel the loom it got worse !! The meat was falling off the bones so to say, the oil and coolant mixture got into the loom marinated and basically broke down the wires insulating cover !!! So now I’m going to replace the whole “ knock, oil temperature, oil pressure wiring harness and might as well do both knock sensors because they both where swimming in the marinade

Shorted wiring will definitely cause your problems. Hopefully you can source that small harness that connects the oil pressure, oil temperature and knock sensors to the main harness.

yeah unfortunately I have to go to the “Stealership” to buy it tomorrow I’m sure they have or can get it that day, If I order it before 12:pm!

I had the same thing happen to me in an 100% sure it has to do with the oil pressure sensor “connector” So I replaced my oil cooler last night on my 2016 Ram 1500 3.6 .. aluminum body upgrade oil cooler replaced the gasket with stealership ones for added security.. but my issues was after I installed the oil cooler the oil pressure sensor connector would “click” on!! I pressed and pressed and nothing so I said hell with it, I should be fine reinstalling everything very carefully and took it for a test drive , on road and on highway pulling over in random parking lots and checking for leaks.. on the way home I pulled out of a parking lot and BOOM truck went into limp mode.. red lighting ZERO oil pressure and a throttle body sensor code.. I’m going to uninstall the upper and lower intake manifolds and I’m 100% the stupid oil pressure sensor connect slipped off so after seeing the video creator use a series of zip ties that’s what I’m going to do !! Great video btw and good luck to the rest of you guys having this issue…

I'm my opinion an open circuit will not cause the throttle body code. You might want to replace the oil pressure sensor while in there. Did the upgraded housing come with new sensors? The tps code could be a connection issue at the throttle body too. Good luck

Need recommendations. I have a 2013 Ram 1500 that has gone through 4 oil pressure sensors in the past month, with the last 2 not even lasting 2 days. I've been to 2 different mechanics that can't figure out what is causing this. Also wanted to add that after replacing the first one, which lasted 2 weeks, I had a problem with the electronic throttle control system which I believe caused that one to go bad. They replaced the throttle cable (or sensor, sorry I'm not 100% sure what it's called) and now my oil pressure sensors don't last more than 2 days. Both shops believe there is an electrical problem somewhere but can't seem to find it. Any ideas?

How are they failing. What are the symptoms? Are you using genuine dodge parts?

Hey Phillip I’m following up to know if the truck has had any issues since you’ve replaced the oil pressure sensor and fixed the wiring harness? My truck is having the same issues rn

The truck has been fine but I'm honestly not sure what really fixed it as before I replaced the sender I did reconnect the original oil pressure sensor and the problem did not return. It could have been that moving the harness and securing it properly fixed it as the particular wire may have been compromised somewhere. You could try unplugging the connector behind the manifold and run it with the oil pressure sensor out of the circuit. The knock sensors are in that connector and they will set codes but it should run perfect like that. Also I believe the AC pressure sensor shares that 5volt reference as well. Good luck and let me know how things work out for you.

@@PhillipBailey I did run it with the sensor disconnected and I still got the same problem. I have a code for Camshaft position sensor circuit - Bank 2 sensor 1 (p0345), Camshaft position sensor circuit - Bank 2 sensor 2 (p0390), Camshaft position sensor circuit - Bank 1 sensor 1 (p0340), Camshaft position sensor circuit - Bank 1 sensor 2 (p0365), Sensor reference voltage 2 circuit low (p0652), Engine coolant bypass valve position sensor circuit low (p26A6), implausible engine torque signal received (U1424), Excelerator pedal position sensor 2 circuit low (p2127), torque request signal denied c121C-00 and some other code but I think they’re for the sensor I disconnected. I think what I plan to do next is use a bolt meter to see if I lose power on the 5 volt wire on that main harness you tested. Maybe I have a bad wire. I initially thought I had an issue with the PCM but I guess there’s a couple more steps I need to take to make sure my issue really is the PCM. Do you have any other advice? Thanks for your time

@@JoaoSilva-qq9vr I think the P0652 code is the common thread here. Refence sensor voltage 2. The truck I had was similar but reference sensor 1. I suspect either a shorting sensor or shorting wire. It's a different wire than the one I was focusing on though. You need a good wiring diagram to locate the affected circuit. How consistent is the problem. If you're lucky and it's doing it all the time monitor the reference voltage at a cam sensor by back pinning and if its not at or near 5 volts start unplugging all the sensors that use the 5volt line until the 5 volts comes back. I'll have a look at a schematic.

@@JoaoSilva-qq9vr try disconnecting the coolant bypass control valve as that is apparently common to fail like this.

Nice vid! I have a 2014 durango. 3.6 v6 and started having misfires. I replaced boots..the plugs...everything i could think of and ended up taking it to the shop. Then on the way the temp went up. I ended up needing a new oil cooler and they fixed it all. Then after repairs it would randomly go into limp mode. They fixed it again somehow. But months later i start getting throttle body errors with 03652 or whatever. I reset the sensor of the throttle with a gas pedal depress for 10 seconds and its good for a couple hundo miles. Its so freaking odd. Any suggestions?

@de50aemr since these codes started after the oil cooler was replaced and it is usually supplied with an oil pressure sensor I would be suspicious that the oil pressure sensor is shorting out the 5 volt reference setting the two P codes. If you can reach the oil pressure sensor unplug it and see if the condition is eliminated. This is a fairly common problem with aftermarket oil pressure sensors. I'd recommend an oem one. If this is truly the problem it should be warranty. Here is a case I found on Identifix... Engine Oil Pressure Sensor - CODES P0642, P2122, P2135, P2138, P0335 AND P0339 WERE ALL PRESENT AFTER A RECENTLY INSTALLED AFTERMARKET BRAND X OIL PRESSURE SENSOR.5 VOLTS REFERENCE WENT TO BELOW 3 VOLTS
