Here's a tip...if ur gonna play the short ball all the time to get runners on base, then hit it towards the first baseline instead of the third baseline. A lot harder for a team to have someone cover first when the first baseman is after the ball than them hitting it towards 3rd and leaving the first baseman at the bag. Causes more confusion.
having a good bunt game is key for kickball...those balls are big and get a lot of hang time most kicks end in a pop out base runner score points blunts put ppl on base once you have base runner you kick away and sacrifice yourself to let base runner tag up and advance..anyone saying bunting is for pussies or think you could kick a home run all the time have clearly never played since elementary school kick it if u want but your gonna get out 90% of the time
This is normal for higher leagues. In schoolyard ball you get used to fast easy rolls or slow easy rolls. Here it is fast pitch bounce/roll/big hop/speed/etc.
Hmnn, seeing these guys playing kinda seriously in soccer kits and whatnot gives me an idea. Couldn't one contrive a form of kickball where the fielding team also uses only their feet? Bases could be large targets the fielders need to hit and base runners pass outside of, some kind of restrictions on how the "pitcher" kicks could be contrived. It would be easy enough to "catch" by taking it on your chest and then catch it on your foot. Would be decent technique practice for soccer players.
