Black Belts at the 2013 IBJJF World Championships Music: "Machine Gun" by Tristan Garner Special Thanks to Jairo Duenas AKA Wild Cherry SHOP NOW: teespring.com/...
...which is one of the reasons why you won't see bjj as an Olympic sport any time soon (not that it's something to cry about or regret - but, just saying)
@@777Skeptic lol cops learn aikido...I mean, that's the dumbest sport ever lmao, bjj is 10x more effective but it's just that it kinda forces u to get on ur back which wouldn't be a good idea when trying to fight criminals in the street since they could have a gun or knife...also, bjj required speed, which is hard when ur a cop carrying not just a gun, but a bunch of other heavy shit
This is, probably, the best black belt tournament ever! Everyone was there, everyone who was anything serious at that time, wow, what a highlight! Really impressive!!!!!! Osss🙏💪
I have watched this 4 times in a row... having being there was spectacular.... but this is as close as it gets to capturing all of the action, pace and the intensity.. hat off to you guys on making this HL
Just got home from Vacation in Thailand. A month without BJJ, and ended up watching this video like 40 times. Makes you realize how addicted you really are :) Great music + awsome highlights! Keep em coming! :)
haha thank you... not as fast as no-gi but still gets exciting... check out some of our other videos and you will see... good music doesn't hurt either
I have not done Judo for over thirty years, due to injury. I would do anything to go back to it and although I was only a junior when doing it just watching this gets the 'juices' flowing. Bloody ell an excellent video Love the music btw
Some amazing skill! I doubt I'd ever get as good as any of these guys, but my instructor and personal friend is the state champ of Western Australia. Nice music, by the way. I subscribed. Just a shout from Down Under, Adam, amateur BJJ/TKD fighter
Xande is too smooth. He makes it look so easy. Takes the guys back, beats him, then he just calmly helps the guy up who he's just beaten. That's the spirit of the Ribeiro brothers. True warriors.
JJ is the traditional Japanese martial art derived from Samurai close combat tactics. Still includes a massive number of throw's and strikes, and is trained largely for self defense and "real world" application. Aikido, Judo and BJJ are re-interpretations of this style with a different focus.
This video makes me want to set the lofty goal of one day going to the world's, not sure i'll ever be good enough but this lowly blue belt can dream! :P
No problem! He is one of the best right now...practically dominates everyone in his division and in the open. Buchecha has his number right now though...
All 3 are about leverage, timing and skill. All have their strengths and weakness's and there's a lot of discussion about which is superior, but largely that depends on your physique and fight style. The truth is they all teach respect (most of all for your opponent). So if anyone tells that their sport is "best", unfortunately they're probably not a very good representative for their sport. That was long, but I hope it helps. If you can't pick - do them all! One will only improve the other.
Yes, I know he's arguably the best in the world (Marcelo Garcia?), but consider this - His gym is about an hour there and an hour back, and I've heard he's not there much because obviously he competes all over the world. Convenience has a big impact on how often you could train. For example, Nilton Garcia's academy is 30 mins away and his classes are smaller. It's the difference between training 3 times a week and training 6 times a week. Plus he got his black belt from Roger.
i truly love this art.... its really a human form of chess... in my opinion. I am training in jits but I don't think I would be anywhere near these guys at all... they turn in angles and see angles that I didn't even see lol... oh well... a white belt still has a lot to learn lol
Looks like a complete beast. I did a did of research and I see he comes from the Carlson Gracie lineage. It seems a lot of the top guys originate from him. I'm curious, because I'm about to start training again after a long break. In London there is Roger Gracie, Carlson Gracie and Nilton Garcia academies, so I'm trying to decide!
this high level BJJ is more intense as cocaine from bolivia! dont be a hater, respect this athletes marcello garcia, kron and rickson gracie, jacare, andre galvao, buchecka, mendes .... and so many more
