He might be in such a small cage because of an injured wing. They might need to keep him from trying to fly until it’s healed. Still, the cage should be large enough to climb around.
@@Ash-lc1bu This is not a blind and bald chick for keeping in a cage - it is a full-fledged, fully formed bird, overgrown with feathers. large parrots such as macaws should be prohibited from cages altogether. if cockatiels, aratings, rosellas and other parrots can still more or less live in a cage (taking into account the daily many hours of flights), then with a macaw it is just a crime. Active flying is directly related to the correct development of the brain, you know? How will a bird have a well-formed brain if it sits in a cramped cage?
@@GlazeonthewickeR you clearly know nothing regarding birds. They all look very bored and unhappy and that many sun conures in one small cage is NOT good enough at all. They need to have room for their whole wingspan and be able to fly at least a little (tho they are actually supposed to be out of the cage for ~8 it more hours a day). That many sun conures in that cage is awful conditions. - a conure owner
I think it’s cause this is a bird pet store. They have a lot of birds so they may not have the room. But I agree the conditions these poor birds are in is atrocious
y'all ever think that maybe this is a low funded facility? because of the small cages/small space. I hope they get more funding/donations so the animals could be in bigger enclosures
jfyi this is bird pet store, they take care birds until someone adopt them, those small cages is temporary for them to sleep, they take those birds out often to feed&train
She is really sad and depressed, in Brazil this animal needs a lot of space besides being socially active with other birds. He is being tortured and it hurts me.
On the other hand, releasing once captive birds in the wild is extremely risk, they have next to none chance of surviving, they do not know how to hunt for food, water and protect against predators, besides It is likely there is no food adequate to the species.
I think (and hope) that the reason this gorgeous green wing macaw is being kept in that small cage is because he/she is a young baby. The fluffed up head feathers, dark colored eyes, and beige lower mandible (lower beak) color are visual indicators that it’s a baby. 💖 I hope they take care of all of these sentient, special exotic birds they’re showing in this video. I worry a lot when I see many cages like this all crammed together. 🥺
I have a rainbow Lorikeet. His name iz Lori Carlos Montana Jones. I let him wander around my house all day. He loves me. I pay the rent and he controls my home 🏡
Anyone who's owned a parrot knows how well you have to treat them to have this kind of gentle behaviour. It's obviously a temporary cage and it loves its caretaker. Stop complaining about everything.
I don’t know much about parrots but I do work with birds of prey. Parrots like this don’t usually even have a cage if the parrot is friendly and if they do it’s a cage they sleep in. Edit: I have now noticed it’s wings are clipped, I don’t know if this is a previously owned bird but all bird owners know to not clip a birds wings
I'm sorry but it is precisely because I own two birds that I know that these are not appropriate conditions. The stores have that idea that they are temporary cages and that they do not affect but you do not know the stress that generates them and how they change them. My parakeets was bought from stores and both suffered a lot of time because of that, having distrust of people and not even knowing what they can eat or not. That is neither good nor healthy. That parrot is clearly decayed, not tamed. And it is obvious that it is due to lack of good food.
I don't have to own a parrot to know this bird is really sick... I'm only complaining that u r so stupid not to c that. Plz don't have a go at me for this comment , not unless u pay for my bills for all the sick birds I take in.
Yeah no, the poor bird looks so weak it’s not in a condition to react and she stretched out his wings! I can’t even imagine doing that to my birds and they would do nothing at all! Also that cage isn’t even fit for a budgie so even if it was temporary that doesn’t change the fact that she’s confining him to a very small place and he didn’t react to anything so you can’t say he loves her he was just really weak!
Actually I agree.. This bird has been taken good care of and that's the reason hes so calm and affectionate towards the owner.. And also the ones that are born in captivity can't be just released into the wild like that cuz they have a habit of being fed and taken care of.. They won't survive or it becomes very hard for them to be on their own..if they don't get a partner in the wild soon..
They need bigger cages!! And allow them spend more time outside the cage! They are too smart to be stuck all day in those small cages with a lot of birds..😰
Poor thing!! These cages are way to small fkr the birds. The macaw looks like he just wants to die. Its wrong that people are stuffing theses animals in tiny cages and using them for money. That macaw has zero room to spread his wings, and I doubt anyone really cares!!!

@@cabecadura193 It’s a night cage, so he’s only in there to sleep. Usually this is done so they don’t hurt themselves if they have a night fright, which is panicked thrashing/flying around caused by any disturbance like a sound or even a breeze. Plus it’s a baby so they don’t always have a good grip on their perches, a sleeper cage means they have less distance to fall if they slip off their perch. I’ve always done this with my birds so they have less chance of hurting themselves during a night fright, (birds have extremely poor night vision). During the day they’re out all day long.
Guys please stop saying the cage is too small. The macaw's clearly still a baby, and if they put the baby in a bigger cage, it could potentially fall off the perches and get injured. I'm sure they'll put it in a bigger cage when it's older. As for the conures in the back, they should be put in a bigger cage.
the cage and food/water bowl look really small for that bird :)) maybe get a bigger one? Unless you take your bird out a lot and feed it outside the cage too or something like that
@@ThomasDoubting5 Before making racist assumptions, maybe read the actual video description lol. It's a pet store. By the way, this vid's clearly in Japanese, and U.S. Scientists can/have easily been awful. See Kitten Lady's vids on current US kitten experimentation involving cannibalism.
Honestly I believe it's a shelter for rescue birds (at least that's what it looks like). I don't think they have the money and space for this. It's very sad but at least the person seems to actually care about the birds :/
@@1stRU-vidHandle Sorry my bad, didn't see the description. Well unfortunately it's a common issue with pet stores. I hope these birdies get better homes soon :(
Ashley Sparksy the cage is an appropriate size for his age and it seems he is handled often, meaning he has out of the cage time. if he was fully grown i would agree.
Hey! I saw that this video is still getting comments after all these years so I hope this helps some people- but this macaw parrot is a little baby! The dark eyes show you that fact- as well as the beak and head shape! When rearing babies, it's often much much safer to keep them in smaller cages in-between feeding times- as they are very very clumsy! Babies are still growing new feathers, and if they break a big one, like a big wing or tail feather- it can potentially kill them due to blood loss! Bigger parrots tend to be hardier- but I find it still safer to keep smaller cages for the babies till they get better on their feet! Its pretty guaranteed this bird will get a bigger cage when they get older! Also in regard to the 'rough handling' of the bird- this birdie is coming out for food time! When the handler puts their hands between the parrots beak, it's trying to get food from their fingers! It's not a sign of discomfort, in fact it's a good sign- shows they are a hungry bird which is good for a baby like this! I believe the large amount of parrots in that other cage _could_ be the same thing- as that particular breed tend to have more eggs in the nests, and far more agile on their feet when so young! I'm not particularly familiar with the channel, but I do really like birds! Hope this helps!
@PяAηנαL HINDU the selling of parrots shouldn’t be illegal that will just bring up the illegal trade rates, there should be a mandatory course you have to take in order to have one tho
учти, что вольер желательно 3-3 метра, каждый день его нужно выводить летать (вначале в неволе, если приручится тогда на улицу выпускать можно), каждый день с ним надо заниматься... короче, это как 3-х летний ребёнок - воспринимай это так
These animals in their toooo small cages looks so sad. They want love and freedom. I feel so sorry for them. Pet industry is only a money making machine. The animals suffer, but no one cares. 😢
This is a baby macaw that is showing humble attitude to get love and attention because it's without the parents and babies are actually also doing this behavior when hungry too, like the flapping of the wings🤔😉😊😍😉❤💖 I totally agree but that's also why I'm very glad to see that she is giving this bird a bit of this because they are not supposed to live alone in a family like other animals can do easily and (unfortunately many birds are caged up alone most of the days 🤔😕😔😢🤬)from breeder/pet shops that thinks mostly of money and doesn't think about the animals needs and instincts and doesn't demand owners with knowledge and willingness to give their animals all the best 🤔😔😢 They need large cages and lots of toys and different branches and things to tear up because a bird that's destroying and chewing things is a happy bird and they will make a mess and act like 3 year old children with a strong will and they will be noisy too but they are sooo unbelievable intelligent and amazing pets too if we are good owners 🤔😊😍😍 I have 4 macaws (2 rehomed) and 1 rehomed African grey+ other animals and I've learned enormous things about my all my different animals from the animal itself and I believe that if we love them and treat them with respect and understanding and it goes both ways, they will never leave us and that's when we can train freeflying with our birds like I'm doing and it's just magnificent and awesome to see our feathered friends enjoy using their instincts and natural behavior 😉😊😍
I don’t speak Japanese but at school I learn it! Here I go..オウムは超かわいいです!!! 私は学校で日本語を習得しました、笑...I had to change the settings to Japanese..lol😂😂 and then change it back to English...
Those Sun Concure in the back broke my heart look so hungry. This is a birdie mill. Never buy at a pet store. adopted a bird . I have a health Sun Concure she my heart.
Ugh, this is exactly why I can't go into these places. I lost the love of my life, a 16 year old Blue and Gold, 11 years ago unexpectedly. We had her since she was about that age. The loss is so great, it's still too painful to think about. She loved her daddy and the thought of never experiencing that degree of love again is unbearable. I'm 64 so acquiring another one isn't an option. It would be selfish of me, and unfair for the bird.
