@@greenlife1041 It's not too difficult. Just follow cleverfix direction on removal of the bezel around the gear shift. Once removed, tape off/mask off the area not to be painted and prep the area to be painted using a light scuff pad (or high grade wet sandpaper to remove any damaged areas). If sanding is required, I recommend using 1,200-1,500 or 2,000 grit paper to remove the damage but finish sanding with the highest grade to minimize any sanding marks. When bezel is dry - LIGHTLY dust on a coat of black or silver paint. DO NOT try to achieve full coverage with one or two coats or you will fail. Patience is key. Allow coat to dry 20-45 min depending on temperature. Painting plastics can be difficult so several coats of a light dusting of paint is best. It won't start to look good until the 4th, 5th or 6th coat is applied and you may need more. I took 6-8 hours to complete the entire process for the silver part. When finished, I let the paint cure overnight before taping the silver area off and repeating the process for the black. I also applied the paint to thick and had to start over from scratch. Very frustrating so be patient in between applying coats. *Some would also suggest using a "Plastic Primer" coat before painting. * I didn't. It looks beautiful now and the effort paid off. The chrome molding strip that sits on top of the small blue molding running left to right across the dash is badly damaged on my '16 Corolla S. I broke one clip trying to separated it from the blue part in order to attempt a repaint/repair but I gave up after the breaking of the clip. The dealership says they don't sell the chrome part separate from the whole dash molding. :(😒
The entire piece has to be replaced. Try www.car-part.com/ It's called "Radio Bezel Trim" under the dropdown. They're kind of hard to find.. I found one in PA for example that's $100, Stock #401187 • Bollman's Auto Salvage - ARA, Saxton, www.bollmansautosalvage.com/ , but I don't know if they can ship. I would also try a LKQ Keystone if you have one close by, just drop in and talk to the sales guy. They must have it, they have everything, but it's probably not called "Radio Bezel" in their system. You can also call LKQ, although it will be difficult to describe the part.. They also have an online catalog, but again, it's difficult to figure out what they call it, I don't think it's "Dash Panel" that's likely the top part of the dash.
