Our chevy work vans have stretch fit on AC theres a little tool that helps put on no problem.

This is a cool tip for when the engine is out, of the vehicle, however, i tried this while the engine was installed and there is not room for the Vise-Grips. I ended up using a folded piece of cardboard wedged in, and it worked after two or three tries

May work with the engine out of vehicle. But wouldn't work if it was in vehicle . May God bless everyone!

done a few on fords the little belt for power steering can be a little testing bigger one no probs if you pivot alternator

I did the zip tie method yesterday. Not easy but it worked. Get good thick zip ties.

Small vise grips work as well when the engine is in the car from the bottom 👍

Wouldn’t be easier just to loosen the alternator then use a pry bar on the alternator to get enough tension on it then tighten the alternator bolts.

You have to do similar when you replace the water pump on a 2008-2009 escape

I tried that exact thing today and the belt kept popping off the water pump pulley… I ended up turning the engine backwards to get the belt on. Probably not supposed to, but it worked and the engine is running like a top.

My theory on why these things eat water pumps....These belts are so frickin tight when on. Put a freaking tensioner on from the factory already WTF?

Makes it impossible to change on a cold wet night..used to use a 15mm wrench on the tensioner and slip the spare kept in the trunk on....
