Your install was very thorough, and i watched your video countless times, i am installing (Rockford Fosgate) Puch series, into my Tundra 2019 Limited Crew Max, I will complete my install with a (Kicker 5 Channel Power amp), but I have to start by replacing the speakers first, so i tried to replace the driver and front passenger speakers!!! My question is (How did you get the speakers to mount properly without the speaker magnets hitting the window tracks, without a spacer???)🤔🤔🤔
Heads up -- the factory speakers work as brackets. Just cut the basket and cone out and mount your new 6x9 speakers right onto them. That wiring suggests that the tweeter and midbass are both 4ohm speakers and wired like that present a 2ohm load to the amplifier. There is no such thing as "essentially a pass-thru". Both loads are presented on the same output channel. This is important because if someone buys 2ohm speakers and installs like that, many amps will go into protect mode.
Great video! Super informative and helpful. My question as a newbie is, can I upgrade my tundra door speakers before the amp? Or does the amp go first? Also, is the sound deadening material available in the links? Do you have other videos detailing it?
I don't think the factory amp has enough power to run after market speakers in the doors. With my 2015, I went with Taco Tunes plug and play 5 channel amp, installed Polk Audio separates in all 4 doors (mid bass and separate tweeter with a crossover) a Rockford loaded 10 inch sub and it sounds great. I just recently eliminated my center dash speaker and went with Kicker 3.5 2-ways in the corners. My understanding is the stock radio powers the dash speakers.
Hey Provo! (And any other sound guru who knows the answer) Quick question for you. I’m getting JBL 605 csq speakers that have an external crossover. How do I incorporate the factory tweeter harness so I don’t lose midrange?? Thank you!
How do the Alpine”s sound. I’m sure better than the stock. Would you recommend them? Do they have a good sound quality bass mid high. I will be using a JL Audio 400/4. If not any other 6x9 and 6.5”s you can recommend. Ps:// People are raving about Skar any thoughts. Thank You 2020 Tundra SR5 Crewmax.
It's still powered by the radio and the midbass would be powered by the stock amp under the seat. No change in the wiring. Truth is however, we added a 4 channel amp to power them anyways (and that video is linked in the description).
Hello. Can you help me out. I have a 2017 4.6l v8 tundra and I’m looking to do a speaker swap with just using the adapter plug ins but when I click on the link it says it does not fit my 2017 tundra. Is this true or would I need to look for different adapters? Please help I need to get rid of these nasty stock speakers 😊
Yes, there is a harness for the top dash speakers on amazon made by red wolf. It won't work for the center dash speaker though, that's a weird speaker & it messes up the sound stage, just disconnect it.
