@@imreallybored3616 not for 2014s like he's driving here. They're actually super affordable. Kinda rare with the m sport though cus it seems everyone else has figured out what they are.
Vredestein has been doing a lot of marketing lately and it’s nice to see a company, that isn’t Michelin or Pirelli, getting more recognition. For awhile, those two were all anybody was talking about.
Agreed with all of this. I run Michelin Pilot Sport AS4 on my Golf R and they are great! Wanted a high performance all season and definitely got it. Excellent tire all around.
Run flats are the scourge of non-M BMWs. Please BMW wake up! All season tires are fine for AWD SUVs. RWD vehicles do need snows as all seasons do not bite when starting from a dead stop especially trying to go up hill.
Run flats are no fun it rides rough and noisy especially when it wearing down, my 14 x5 35d I opted for Micheline A/S 3 N-spec was so much better riding then the Bridgestone duluer rft.
I was working for the brand when they released the f25 chassis. It felt like a huuuuuge improvement compared to the e83, which always have been terrible anyway. As for the run flat, it might save the joints and the suspension elements a little bit, and the nice M wheels, I remember at least half of the cars had flat spots, bent or cracked rims with those tyres.
@@icedareaper the engine alone does not make a vehicle good or bad. As good as the engine is, the e83 was terrible. If you like this engine try it in something else. In this you need torque otherwise it really struggles.
I have a 2014 x3 without the M sport package :( either way such a great car and I definitely wish i would’ve gotten one with the M sport package). just wasn’t in tune with bmws when i purchased it haha. Never will buy a bmw without the M sport package now, they look so much better than any other trim bmw offers!
I have a Q50 3.7 that has run flats on it right now. Just recently I got to take a Q50 3.0t red sport without run flats out and probably the biggest difference I noticed was how much better the car felt with just the difference of tires. I was going to just use up the run flats and replace them at that point but I'm strongly reconsidering now that I've felt the difference - they are junk.
Hey Ted! Great video! I actually bought the wintrac pros on your recommendation and I couldn't be happier with how they chew up PA snow! Would you recommend the hypertrac's to someone who drives a bone stock wrx and occasionally hoons mountain roads? Do you think they'd be decent enough in the snow to replace the wintrac pro's as a year-round tire? I currently have the OEM dunlop sport maxx rt's for the summers but have been looking into something a bit more long-lasting since I daily my wrx. Thanks, and keep up the great content!
Vredestein Ultrac Vorti are great tires. Badly worn, still managed to put down 320hp FWD car on the road, which is impressive in my opinion. Currently running PS4S, which are amazing, but my next tires will be Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport, just to compare.
i have on my BMW 5 series e60 in summer Goodyear tyree , no run flat a normal . He is very good , not so expansive , very good handling so why i should pay more for a Michelin or Continental . In normal using is the different not so great. The dealer whant to sale me a pirelli but i dont what that tyre , cause i dont whant to bye al 12-14 k miles a set of new tyres .
How’s the reliability been on this engine? I’ve been looking at e92 335i’s and I just don’t know if I want to take on all of the said “problems” that the engines have.
They’re not too bad. Biggest issues are oil leaks (they’re not anything crazy), water pump going out, and charge pipe breaking. Otherwise, change the oil every 5-7k miles and you’re good.
Never thought anything about these cars but holy shit, these tick a lot of boxes! Fun enough for the daily drive, and apparently they can tow 3,500 lbs? That's just enough for an open top trailer and a track Miata!
And you can replace the tires with the normal pneumatic type, but then you won’t have a spare… I have all season Michelins (previously had sport Continentals) on my BMW 128i (RWD), and they make all the difference in the winter, on snowy roads.
Just bought this exact car (identical in every way). Has run flats on it, and it’s a SUPER firm ride. On top of that, I’m apparently the only M Sport buyer who didn’t want the M Sport.. It was just the great deal I could find with just one day to shop. Anyway! Other than visual stuff, are there any suspension differences? Mine seems lower than non M models.
I have Continental Extreme Contacts on my e92 M3 and love them, they perform well, aren’t loud, and they wear really well. But they’re pretty pricey for my wheel set up😂
I had a 2013 X3 M Sport in a gorgeous Vermillion Red. I switched out the Goodyear RFTs for Michelin Primacy all season RFTs. Super quiet tire and plenty of handling for a daily. Had to do RFTs to return the lease. Also had an X4 M40i on Michelin PSS. Sportier but noisier.
The N55 is a beast! A friend of mine has a 2014 335i that he's done all kinds of mods to - stage 2 tune, catless exhaust, coilovers, you name it. But I did get to drive it when stock, and even then it was such an effortlessly powerful thing. As a bonus, it sounds pretty mean when uncorked. I like the X3 as well. I haven't driven that generation, but I had a rental 2020 X3 not long ago that I rather enjyoyed. I'd love to try it with a six-cylinder.
Side note - my wife's 330i with its run-flat tires is actually pretty quiet. Oddly, what I notice is that the ride is pretty firm. I'm guessing the run-flats are to blame.
My Camaro with all seasons on it was like 1-2 second slower a lap on a 1:30 autocross lap with high performance all seasons on it vs my summer ps4s. The feel from the tires was totally different. Ps4s feel leagues better. But in terms of actual grip they weren't THAT far off. On the street It basically doesn't matter.
A high performance summer will always best an all season but it’s also painful to replace them so frequently. For normal and spirited road driving there’s some pretty solid options for all season tires now.
Gotta step up to the michelin pilot power super sports. They transformed my mustang. Currently running goodyear eagle F1 and they same high cornering grip too.
If they were garbage I'd have sent them back. The X3 drove like shit on the OE run Flats and these completely changed the car. It's quiet, smooth and has more grip. Happy to show an affordable tire to this audience. As far as "selling out", this content is free to you. It's not free to me. My business relies on sponsors, viewer support, and integrity. I won't sacrifice integrity for sponsors or cheap views and I'd hope by now my subscribers understand that I only bring them honest opinions regardless of payment. I turn down thousands of dollars every week from sponsors I don't believe in. You're judging me by the sponsor i accepted, not by dozens I reject.
Tom (Tedward) would not praise something that’s no good. I can assure you, the stock run-flat tires these cars come with are absolute garbage. Even without driving the tires he has in this video, I’ve never ever driven a car on run-flats thinking that they were good.
@@TedwardDrives I understand that completely, I was implying that the video was more about the Vredestein tires than the X3, I was under the impression that you were gonna talk more about the car! I wanna know what you really think about car, as implied when you titled the video with the model and year of the car. The tires part seemed a little sneaked in, which is why I felt like it was a product placement in disguise. If the title said something "Vredestein tires- Are they any good?" My expectations would have been different. I didn't mean to play down your video making efforts, I can tell you put a lot of yourself in these videos, I just didn't expect you to call me a leach.
