Thanks pal. I have a 2014 cruze and just few weeks trouble starting and had to boost a few times. The same messages were coming up as well. I get good deals on parts from a local supplier and bought a new battery for $130 Canadian dollars and replaced myself. Cleared the codes and took car for a good run. Feels and runs better now. People like you sharing your input helps us out here to fix our cars and save $$$. Thanks
Thank you, thank you! My battery been corroding bad. So yesterday it went dead, charged it, all good, today it says power steering something, I’m praying it’s the battery. It will be a good start! Thank you
I just fix my girlfriend 2011 Chevy Cruze LT and turn out it was a wire loose under the black box that sits on top of the battery. I simply twist the bolt and crank the car back up boom no power steering light no more. I also fix the battery draining problem with was the same black box that sits on top of the battery. I got hers off eBay a few months ago and it still running great.
Just turned on my car this morning and this shit pop up am so happy I saw your video before I went off crying 😢. Now I know let's see what my merchant will say. Hmmmm. Thank you so much and yes put more video up. Bless!
Hey...so the merchant scan my car and code PO420 came up. He stated that my Catalytic Converter needs to be replaced. I reed up on that trying to understand this issue. Just letting you know. Thanks 😇
Help needed: Same lights come on my 2014 chevy cruze it also starts to pull when put in drive. Everytime they scan for the problem it says its the transmission valve assembly an the computer for the transmission. Already had the transmission rebuilt an turns out the computer shorted then it was running fine. A couple of days later and now its pulling again and has engine light on. Any idea of what it could be??
Same problem with my chevy (electronic steering) in cold start wont turn on the steering light, when the engine starts warming up than the steering solid hard, to buy the electronic steering cost about $800 without labor work, means that unplugging the battery should help?? Im no mechanic but if i have to do it and keep searching ill save money, youtube helps alot but sometimes you look for a specific item (how to replace electronic steering) for your specific car. No answer!! I guess doing it ourself we learn much. But afterwards taking it to a shop for alognment its more than enough. I have new battery i replace 2 months ago. It should work if unplugged? Hope it works. To save $1200. Wish luck.
Height Fivee yea I replaced my battery and it worked right away just had to take it to my mechanic to get the codes cleared but good luck I hope things work out for you
@@Luckyfvm I have 2011 chevrolet cruze, and it shows code 68 which says service steering power on the chevrolet manual. Do you think new battery will fix it?
@@clockw1se226 depends on if your battery is dying or battery light is on get a battery check first and if it’s low switch it out and see if that can be the problem
So 2nd part to this vid would have helped..So did your Stabiltrak issue get resolved because of the battery? I have the same issue- though i had idle issues as well so i replaced the Valve cover..But of course the Stabilitrak is still coming on..I also have issues with the air bag sensor flipping on and off sooo I'm getting a feeling its the battery as the root cause or a bad alternator. Somehow driving isn't isn't keeping enough charge to power the Stabilitrak and airbags?
Vic at Nyte yea it may be your alternator as well but mines was the battery after all the test I’ve done so hopefully you’ll be able to replace your battery and it’ll fix the issue but if your new battery drain then you’ll need an alternator as well
I am having a simular issue but only after changing the alternator. Got a new battery in it only a year old. The power steering pump fuse seems to be fine. Unless I got a bad alternator. My only guess now is the valve cover. Unless I am missing something.
How would one go about reprogramming a used one ? The power steer light comes on after the engines been running a bit , and then the steering gets hard etc , ? Any other idea what it could be ?
Christian Alvarado there’s a 50/50 chance that the use one will work if you’re going to go that route it’s beat to get a brand new motor I know it’s pricy but you should do that then to get someone to program the use one and it won’t work but did you try getting a new battery?
@@kelvinsmith7730 honestly it was a year ago 🙈.. but I haven’t had any issues ever since, just cleaned the battery & connections good.. cross my fingers everything stays okay 🤨I don’t wanna jinx myself 👍🏼!!
Idk if it’s normal I never had to change my transmission but it possibly can be especially if the power steering motor was messed with dirt could’ve got into it and may just need a clean
Mine developed this problem yesterday and I haven't had the chance to look deep into it yet. But let's just say it's a battery issue. Would it normal for the radio and power window, lights to operate at all? Cauz mine's all working, except I can't start the engine.
@@Luckyfvm Hey man, first of all, thanks for the quick response. I just got a CAA friend come by to boost my battery, and it started fine. I guess for me, it's just my battery draining too quickly during Canada's cold winter and not enough travel time to charge it back up properly (I work 5 mins away). Anyway, best of wishes to you stranger!
@@kelvinsmith7730 actually I did find the root cause of this problem that I experienced: human error. What I did was, because I was afraid of the battery dying, I occasionally start the vehicle just to let it idle for a good 10 mins, but I made the mistake of doing so from the passenger's door, which tells the vehicle that there's still people in the car AFTER I've removed the key and shut the passenger door. The radio, some hud light, and tiny bit of electricity drainage here and there overnight will kill the battery. I know it sounds silly, but that's something I have to do as my workplace is EXTREMELY close to my house, and in the dead of winter, the time I spend driving my car there isn't enough to fully charge an old battery (according to my CAA friend). Best to replace battery or at least get the battery looked at to see if it's still good. As a sidenote, I just returned from a month and a half long trip. I thought my battery is for s ure a goner as it got pretty cold where I live, but my car amazingly started fine. Hope my answer helps, cheers.
Just know replace your power steering pump if you got over 200000 miles mines leaking and its very hard to find a new one you won't get a check engine light and also connected to the stability trak message you get in the car. Location is towards the back of the engine firewall of the car look down cant miss its big long silver part with a round component if you see a leak replace it.
did you record your power steering motor being replaced. my2015 chevy impala doing the same dang thing.(found out I dont have power steering fluid)...and when I shift to drive, or reverse, my car jerks and that's when the Stabilitrak signal comes on.....Yes please make more videos......
Sorry I didn’t record the power steering motor being replaced because you’ll have to replace the rack and pinion which I didn’t have to do I just changed the battery and it started to run better
This happen to me while I was on the road and the steering wheel locked on me and almost crashed! I have a 2013 Chevy Cruze but there’s no engine light on
My steering wheel has been jerking now and then. Then radio goes off and it says service stability track. It happens after I drive a lot. Today it made me run up on a curb 😳😳😳😳
My car does the same for a few years now. I’ve replaced the battery twice in the last 2 years. And my car still does the same. I think it’s something loose around the battery. Like someone else said in the previous comment.
@@biancag27 I have researched this problem all day and it looks like it’s the negative cable going to the battery. That’s why changing the battery doesn’t fix problem. (Well for most)
@@brookewilliams3110 sorry there’s none was thinking of another car but it’s fully electrical but it maybe another problem with the car or it’s the rack
I have a 2011 mine says what your says and also say service power steering . No it doesn’t turn no doesn’t even make a sound when I try to turn on. I thought it was dead and got a new battery but still nothing. Idk what it could be
It’s The negative battery cable that is loose. Chevy has a special warranty for this problem. They will do it for free just let them know and don’t allow them to lie to you. Special warranty #14311 Chevrolet
Nicole Wintjen then it maybe your motor on your rack don’t replace to entire rack there’s no need to if that’s the actual problem no need to pay $1200+ and you can pay $500+ for the motor and it’s a quick swap
GM sent me a mechanic service announcement stating that the negative battery cable, can cause these problems. Mine came on today, taking it to my mechanic tomorrow. But my battery is only two and half years old.
datshit5132 no I’m saying if your car is starting to act like it’s hard to steer it’s your battery mostly everything under the hood is ran off your battery
@@Luckyfvm okay so my car does that when it's cold out that symbol the steering wheel with explanation point will be on making it hard to steer and won't go off till it warms up an i cut it on and off a couple times and i don't remember if that problem was before i changed my battery. So are you saying that happen because i changed my battery
Sundiata Edwards yes I went thru a used motor and my programmer told me it was a 50/50 chance that it wouldn’t program to the car so I put the original back in and put a new battery in and haven’t had a problem since
Same problem, same car. everything works, it just won't start! Battery reads 12.7v on the dash. Have tried jumping it. And BTW, this car is the biggest POS I've ever owned and that is well over 100!
@@Luckyfvm After verifying 12v at battery terminal on the starter ran a jumper wire from the battery to the relay terminal...turns over fine! Have literally checked every fuse and relay.
Using a high dollar tester. No DTCs. Show low voltage for all pertinent modules in the starting sequence. After 2 days sitting the battery is discharged to well below 12v. Parasitic draw is my guess. I will test further and be back...
@@Tominator313 did you ever find out the issue?? I’ve rebuilt alternator and I’ve replaced the battery my car is just showing service power steering and won’t start doesn’t even make sound
