2014 Ford F150 Adding Factory Remote Start, Cutting Keys, Programming w/ Autel, and Forscan

Due to getting covid I wasn't able to edit this video until now. Start to finish on adding factory remote start to a 2014 Ford F150 XLT. Keys were cut using a cheap 368A eBay key duplicator. Programmed using an Autel IM508. Factory activated remote start with Forscan. If you already have two keys this process is significantly faster as you can cut out the Autel key programming.

Which drill bit and tracer did you use for this??? I did not know you could cut double sided keys with that machine.

I have the same cutter but I always chose the wrong bit and so far fucked up 4-5 blades. And made 4-5 that worked. Any tips on choosing the right bit ?

I use the ones with the flat bottom, not the pointed. Also the bit I use is a little smaller than the area I'm cutting.

So this vehicle wasn’t equipped with remote start previous to this video?

Correct. It was a basic XLT with minimal options. I added remote start along with a few other things.

I have a 2014 Ford F-150 just had an aftermarket remote start put in and today none of my keys work the factory door code doesn’t work either. Any chance u have advice on getting the remote start keys programmed to work? I am locked out of my truck at this moment

Yikes. I'm sure you got this fixed by now, but I would suggest to remove the aftermarket remote start until you figure out what happened for everything else to stop working.

Frustrated so started to look at this again. I noticed that even though I start with 0047, changing it to 01, it changes the 47 to 48 on it's own when I write it. I've tried going back to disabled to start over, and reprogrammed the keys/fobs. No luck. Still starts pushing the button once (this does also lock the truck btw) and pushing again won't shut it off.

The last digit should just be a check digit that will change depending on what the first few numbers are. You may have a problem in the key fob or the receiver module behind the dash (or headliner behind the visors if it was extended).

@@HeartlandRebuilds Maybe I'll try a new key. The "receiver" is just an antenna, or do you mean the TPMS module itself that the antenna plugs into?

@@jeffflowers729 the rectangle module the antenna cable plugs into. Though it's probably fine. My bet would be the key.

Where do i find someone who can turn my remote start on my dash . I’ve installed my remote start and programmed all keys to truck but need it pop up on dash

You need to use Forscan to activate it, or go to a dealership and pay for them to do it.

For the numbers you had changed for the remote start part, is it going to be the same for a 2012? Like you did 0148 when I have seen others do 0147?

I believe the x1xx is the digit that changes the remote start to be enabled. 2011-2014 should be the same. 0047 = disabled. 0148 = enabled. I never tried just adding the 1 digit, but it would probably work.

I changed mine from 0047 to 0147 and it starts with just one push of the button, without the truck being locked. This is not good because I have "pocket" started the truck many times and pushing the button won't shut it off either. I have to put the key in to turn it off. I'm going to try changing to 0148 to see if it corrects the problem.
