I just got the bill in the mail the other day for mine. I could have paid mine off but I bought a radio instead. 🤷‍♂️ I only owe 2400 left on my flex and this last Friday some jackoff tried to ram me off the road with a pit move that cops used and failed. But he did f my rear bumper up and broke my blind spot monitoring system up. Which is why it had all the codes for it on my dash now. Not happy about that though.

@Onyx ouch that freaking sucks! I'm so sorry to hear that. We have people like that here in Los Angeles too. That's one of the reasons I got a dash cam for the flex just 40 days after buying the car. It's been working pretty good. There is 1 bad thing about that BlackVue DR750S-2CH dash cam and its that when the battery voltage drops to 12.5 volts it powers down the camera even though its set to power down when it reaches 12 volts. But that dash cam has saved me from people being wreckless and I catch it all on the dash cam.

@THE AVERAGE GUY1983 you should start posting the vids of it lol. People with dashcams putting stupid drivers on the road gets lots of views. I have a dash cam I just don't have it on because the memory card is full and I took down the rear facing camera because I haven't had the time to put it up after getting new tint on it. People in Florida suck at driving but until this Friday I've never had anyone actually attack me with their car for no reason. I know that alpine makes a dashcam system that works with my radio. I might look into getting that as long as it saves videos to my phone if I need to. I definitely need to upgrade the dash cam I have now though.

I'm glad I could help show that this is possible in the flex! all of the hardware is in the description of the video for what you need to get it up and running. I don't make anything by anyone clicking on the links. it's so other people can also upgrade their radios. But as far as the usb goes, I'm not actually sure of that. I have a roku adapter thing I picked up from walmart for around 30 bucks and it's plugged in through the hdmi inside the armrest and there is a usb plug there as well and I have the roku adapter powered from the 120v plug behind the arm rest where the ac controls for the rear ac is at so I can watch movies or youtube or anything really while I drive long road trips with my phones hotspot. I haven't really used the usb port for anything yet. Maybe I should do a more in depth video at some point in time if there's interest for it. This video was more along the lines of "haha i told you so" since everyone told me it was 100% impossible.

Yes. Everything that you can access through the factory radio you can access with the new radio. The maestro rr control module takes the place of the unit that would send the same information. It's just sent through a different module than the factory apim.

thats wild. i would go to an audio shop near you and ask them to take a look because i was looking just now to help you out and it says the same thing for mine now as well and that's clearly not the case.

let me look at a few things real quick to see if it will. i wanna try to help because i know the factory radio in this truck is garbage after a while.

what year is your flex? does it have the ford mytouch 2 radio in it?

@@amonslow ok, so. all aftermarket head units say that it's incompatible but i think i figured out the issue on the website saying incompatible. however, to make them compatible with the flex it needs the iDatalink KIT-MFT1 dash kit as well as the iDatalink Maestro RR Interface Module and a head unit compatible with the interface module. without the interface module you will lose a lot of features inside the cabin of the flex. like using steering wheel controls, hatch opening button and the ability to turn all the lights on by holding the dimmer switch light up for 3 seconds, just to name a few. the module you need replaces the bcm (body control module) on the back of the factory screen and acts in place of the factory bcm and restores those features and idepending on the head unit you get, can add more features that the flex has and isn't normally shown to you by the factory equipment. the dash kit was made to replace everything that comes in any ford vehicle that comes equipped with a mytouch 2 sync system in it. i think the only varying differences between mine and yours is the speakers in the flex and a shiny faceplate on the center console that says sony on it. so it should still be possible for you. under the video and in the description i added everything that was used in this install for mine. and i've switched to the flex with sony system on the cruthfield website and it all says compatible, with the exception of the head units. because that's assuming you don't have the dash kit since factory default says it isn't compatible. but if you take that list in the description to a pro car audio shop near you and ask them, they should be able to confirm it. questions and consultations at these shops are generally free. so it shouldn't cost you anything to get a definitive answer on if they can do this for you or not. the only other way i could see this not working for you is if you don't already have a factory installed 8" touch screen system in your flex. i drove all the way to explicit customs in melbourne florida to get mine replaced and as you can see, they did a great job and they're awesome people. if you're still unsure you can go to their website, get their number and give them a call. they love helping people out. their website is explicitcustoms (dot) com

I didn't think of anything else. I just knew I wanted the radio replaced and the audio shop I went to for help is a alpine authorized dealer and I seen this style radio and loved how it looked and what you can do with it, audio-wise. I also bought a roku for it for the hdmi plug so I can have youtube or Netflix on during the commute or for the kids. As far as android auto goes, I haven't gotten that update yet since that's a Google side update and they're rolling updates out across the country, so I currently don't have that feature. But when that update comes out for me, I'll be able to do those things.

forgot to update you on your question since the android auto updates. You can in fact fast forward and rewind audio playing from youtube music and I'm assuming spotify now as well since it now supports those features. It also supports having "cards" up on the screen so you can have maps and your music both on the same screen without having to switch between apps. you have full control over both now.

@@Onyx_Games Thanks, but I already figured it out now. I had a 10.1 Chinese brand that couldn't do it. I have a Kenwood dmx 1057xr now, and it can fast forward and rewind.
