Thank you! I did not notice the noise on my car, but the belt is doing the same thing! Thank you for making this video!

Nice work! Replaced the belts and tensioners and idler on my sonata hybrid a few weeks ago, the one tensioner was out of line from wear and it was causing the edge of the belt to get frayed.

You got that double tensioner set up on your hybrid. I seen those tensioners go completely crooked before.

I went to check out a Honda civic Sport hatchback today, I love them and hate the Honda I settled for and it sounded like this. I almost thought it was a fast lifter tick at first but heard the noise coming from the engine accessories.

Would love to see a video on oap/oad on an alternator. Saw a video on worn out oap in charging system class. The belt jumps like crazy !

The newer pilots would have an overrunning pulley. But haven't seen one have an issue yet.

Would have been great if you’d shown how you removed and install the idler pulley. I’m just saying thanks

It was just one bolt to remove that pulley.

I can hear the whoop whoop noise but is the ticking noise normal. Just been checking my 1.8 2014 civic

Usually the purge valve.

What should repair cost for this run?
@theoffroadingmechanic
@theoffroadingmechanic Месяц назад
This is fairly simple parts price varies and if you're able to do it yourself then you can save on labor

I can't get a wrench in there. Should I use box wrench? What about if I can torque this? Space is limited.

I can't get a wrench in there , how do you get it off , there isn't 1 video that shows this, so how?????? Need to know ASAP
@purpledonatello
@purpledonatello 8 месяцев назад
@@CaseyHealsMe I completed the job. Just use a regular wrench and attach another wrench to get lever. There is no way to fit a socket in there and noway to torque it down to spec. I hand tight it down then tight it down again until you see it goes about 1/4 small turn. No need to super hand tight like crazy. Hope it helps.

@@purpledonatellothanks my friend, I think it's ceased on there I did what you said I compounded the wrenches and it seemed like it was stripping, I mean it's on there , im a pretty strong guy and i even put PB Blaster on it lol. Any recommendations? Lol 😅

@@CaseyHealsMe well looks like another way is to replace the idle pully bracket. Look for those bolts that are attach to the engine. Hopefully those aren't seized and that may only be your last chance.

Question so my alternator is good but is getting low charge (battery and starter good tested at AutoZone), checked fuses good , checked wires good . Do u think it may be a pulley issue ??

Are you having a charging warning light on the dash or are you just checking with a multimeter and your getting around 12.1 volt ish
@danieltenorio3559

@@theoffroadingmechanic well when I 1st got the car it was low charging , so I changed for a new alternator got it checked still low charging . So I changed it again and still low charging . And now yes icon came on
@theoffroadingmechanic
@theoffroadingmechanic 5 месяцев назад
Those 9th gen can be tricky since they can "charge" as low as 12.5volts the 10th gen can charge as low as 12.1volts. it only will start charging at higher voltage when there's more load demand and if the battery is low. And it's all for fuel economy and power since it doesn't put a big load on the engine. If your having it intermittently come on try checking voltage drop between the alternator positive to battery positive and see how much voltage drop you have accross the cable. You might be losing that voltage in the cable to the threshold of it setting the charging system warning light.
