Honda made huge mistake when replaced ST1300 on CTX. I own ST1300. This is Awesome bike and I love it. This bike was made for 30 years, was very popular and was on the top of touring class of motorcycles, CTX was made only for one year and was discontinued. Honda made now new ST1800- Goldwing. This bike more closer to ST1300.
Over the years I owned 3 of the ST1300 bikes. Great machines. The only real issue I had was the seat getting too hot in the summer. Over long trips it would get so hot I would sit on a bag of ice purchased during a fuel stop. Tried so many things to help it, but never totally successful.
It looks like a Moto Guzzi and a Kymco scooter had a love child. I'm not a marketing guy, but the 1200cc Crosstour that is available in Europe would be a nicer option, wouldn't it?
I got a used one with 20k miles and missing bags and mufflers and passenger pegs for $4650 including taxes. I do like the bike and I think they will hold value now that they have dropped so much already. Having the 3-4000rpm high torque is way better than 7500rpm horsepower. People don't understand that.
I’m 6’1”.. I have a 32” inseam, and I’m so uncomfortable on the CTX that I almost purchased today.. Seat is too low, and the pegs are too high.. is there anyway to adjust the seat height like my ST1300 ? I like the CTX.. But if there’s no adjustment, I can’t have it…
com'on man, you know the deal..I'm a Harley man look at me, I am stupid and paid way too much for a motorcycle. Buy Japanese, better tech, lasts a lot longer and thousands less
Yea, point out the false claims here, its not a tour bike (having virtually no wind protection) it is not a tourer (having no Electronic Cruise Control).. and take a look how stiff the suspension is (as the rider hit minor lap in the road).. but I have never rode one so I dont know if 6 speed is needed, depends on the final gear ratio of the 5 speed, and the smoothness of the V-4
WInd protection is pretty good with that shorty windscreen (I was pleasantly surprised). Electronic cruise is still not "standard" unless your talking high end bikes (but it should be on anything made to eat up miles, I use a throttle lock). I was reluctant because our brains have been programmed to thing SIX speeds!! But, the gearing is perfect and 5th gear is tall and it never feels like it needs another one. It's a a shame Honda didn't stick with it. I picked my Deluxe brand new in 2019.
@@halleffect1 My point is you commented on a six year old video when ABS wasn't nearly as common. As you mention today, in 2020, it's much more common.
This model was a 2/3 run. He did not say if it had a disc rear brake or how heavy it is. It needed a taller curved wind screen better looking handle bars. Good try Honda.
well I had a deluxe and it hauled ass, blew many larger bike away. My only complaint was the seat, shit. In fact honda the best bike in the world in my opinion, always made shitty OEM seating
