2014 Honda Goldwing airbag test drive review 

I finally got to ride a GoldWing this weekend. My riding buddy actually sold his new this past Spring HD Street Glide to purchase it. The HD was over 25K new and the Honda is a 2012, but in perfect condition with less than 4000 miles for 10K!!! What a bargain! He test drove it and had to have it..He bought that day...He got almost enough money to pay off the bank on the new HD loan and added it on top of the new to him Wing...saved himself a huge amount of $$$ over the HD...We still love HD motorcycles, but that Wing is an awesome machine. I loved every second of it when I rode it..It doesn't handle or feel like a pig of a bike at all...Great cornering ability also for a bike of this size. I loved the smoothness of that boxer style 6 cylinder engine, and so quick and instant torque and speed! I'm sold,,I'm going to give my Boulevard to my son as he is ready to move up to a bigger bike and find myself a great deal on that generation of Gold Wing for next riding season...Now is the time to buy being its the end of the season for most coming soon..With the Wing with all its features I could easily ride until the snow starts flying,,even then with some studs!!! lol,,,jk!

Based on sound alone, I would have thought it was a small turbo diesel. I've never heard a Goldwing wound up before, but I like it. Usually, I only hear the air as they pass by.

I always love watching RU-vid videos of non-Goldwing riders testing out a wing for the first time and watch their amazement on how much power, smoothness and great handling/light-feeling this hotrod is....... I've had my 2012 for 5 years now and you couldn't pry my cold dead hands off of it or wipe the smile off my face.... :)

I sure don't like trusting cars pulled out in intersection like the one you just trusted, an on the throttle when that tractor went by crawling slow speed, good thing it was Not in your lane under the shade trees, no lights, stupid sh#t, no licence driver kid, not paying any attention to 1800cc bikes flying by? Kid just going to grandma's house! These are the types of road hazards, I always on the look out for! I love that you can just jump on any bike an test drive, you've got Best Job Ever!

My Dad and I hopped on the freeway with my V Star 1100 and his Harley FXRS 1340 and hopping and going we thought until something flew by us like we were sitting still. LOL. It was a Gold Wing. Humbled us real quick LOL. Gold Wings are cool.

I wear shorts on mine all summer long, chit it was 90 everyday this year, of course I'm on a 14 GW AB Trike, can't fall over, can't burn legs etc ,,,, I like how there's no heat coming from the engine, one cool ride, even at 90 degrees

I had a silver '07 and loved it, but got bored of it after a while and went back to HD. I had fun jaggin' all my harley buddies with the welcome screen because I fixed mine to say "Hello Winger" every time you turned the key on, always good for a laugh. They do have tons of power and are smooth as it gets on a bike, but they don't look or sound like a Harley. If I was rich and could afford 2 big bikes, I would definitely get another Wing.

Great review. I'd prefer a 6th speed (or at least a better geared overdrive) because at 60+ if you let off the throttle too quickly it's like you're slamming on the brakes.

You seriously do not know why people want 6 gears? Its because you get better mileage with more gears.

Yeah dude, loved the shorts.... but to be a real goldwinger, you need loafers and a Hawaiian shirt when you ride. I should know, I own two goldwings.

I noticed your legs were quite cramped and i think you are 6' possibly plus? Having test ridden one recently I walked away concerned a long trip might be uncomfortable as my legs were squeezed in too. Be interested to know other tall folk experience. I am 6 foot.
