I just bought my wife her 3rd Grand Cherokee yesterday. We owned a 1996 for 8 years, a 2004 for 12 years and now a 2016! These cars are truly masterful works of art! I have loved all of them! Way to go JEEP!

Our Grand Cherokee already has creaking control arms that I had to spray with lithium grease. The interior came with a few panels that weren't even installed correctly, and I had to take them off only to find that someone installed the metal clips incorrectly. It only took a screwdriver to fix, but I shouldn't be doing that to a new car straight from the lot. Besides the imperfections, it's one hellish beast of an SUV! The one we got is a 2013 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk with a 5.7 HEMI engine. I can't believe the acceleration, the 7200 pounds of towing, the insane Quadra-Drive II system, and the countless thick metal skid plates and rock rails protecting this 5000 pound behemoth. It's off-road capable and it's very comfortable on-road with its wonderful air suspension that also allows it to handle nicely. It's when I do a turn hard that I begin feeling the weight, so it's just a "mild" sportiness. However, the quality issues NEED to be considered.
2015 JGC Overland high altitude package,beautiful and sweet ride...20,000 miles right now. 1 long trip from PA to Florida and back to PA with any problem.
+mayiandjay Thanks! I get so tired of everybody bashing the current JGC. It's an AWESOME and EXTREMELY capable SUV. Every car company produces a lemon every now and then. I'm not saying Jeep is at the top of the quality game (definitely not), but gimme a break!
I had a 2001 Grand Cherokee that developed a blown head gasket at ~100K miles. It was minor, so I drove it another 50K miles, when it let go. Water filled the cylinder, hydro locked and broke the rod.
Wish a solid axle jeep, other than the wrangler would come out like they did with the wj. Xj. Zj, mj. Etc. And or offer them with a diesel package in canada. Heck.. even a diesel jk. That would be awesome.
Was that the same lug nut multi runner that put the plastic Lugnuts on my Cherokee that broke off when it was 20 below and I had to drag the car back to town they yes they actually made the Lugnuts out of plastic. I kid you not . How did that pass your strict inspection protocol ?
These are not all "sold", if that were the case there wouldn't be any on dealer lots. Also, they are not shipped to the customer, unless you consider the dealer to be the "customer".
when is there gonna be a hybrid jeep grand?, my country (Jordan) gives huge tax reduction on Hybrid vehicles, from 100-80% of the value of the car to 55-25%. Hybrid cars are bombing here, but i really want a Jeep Grand. :(
Whoops video is wrong they said in 1941 the first SUV was developed by Willy's Overland but it was developed by Bantam of Buttler Pennsylvania. Embrace the true history Willy's may have won the Jeep name but they didn't start what made jeep.
On my Jeep Grand Cherokee 14 under the hood beside the motor there is a cable that is falling and getting rust is in the left side connects from the Chassis and goes under the alternator I want to replace that cable but I don’t know how it call
Enjoying my 2018 Trailhawk (though there is what appears to be factory paint defect on the rear passenger door. The clear coat cleanly covers a 3" blotch). Come on Detroit, you can do better.
Nope ! There aren´t any GCs made in Mexico. A few Chryslers will be produced there but no SUV or Crossovers according to "Automative News" dated 17th September 2015. And honestly: As a German who loves American cars and owns a great American 2005 GC it would bewilder me when American Icons like Jeeps would be produced in Mexico. Besides of that please remind Mister Obama that America needs Jobs in America and not in China or Mexico. Chrysler charges a premium for the GC. The Overland here in Europe is about 55.000 Euros (60.000 USD) w/o VAT. I never would spend that money on a Mexican car. Don´t let greedy companies and corrupt or stupid politician sell out the American idea ! Have I become political. Sorry ! Rgds Mike
+ Jed Knutson your GC is built off an obsolete Benz Platform (dating to the 1980s), same as MLs / GLs built at the Benz plant in another State. But the Durango/GC don't have many-most of the updated engineering goodies. Why buy a vehicle with known flaws prior to purchase? And why buy any Chrysler Product............with decades of poor build-quality,poor reliability-durability.
