I have an older E550 and I can say it has been the most reliable car, don’t drive it hard however and non turbo

Benz all day I have the 2010 E550 I can beat new charger R/Ts all day!! Anything srt an up I would have to get a newer model 2011-16 E550 with the Bi-turbo engine ! Dude that E550 tuned is basically fast as or faster than a stock E63 !!!! There engines are built to preform ! Yo

So that's why in 2014 mercedes stopped making the 4 door E550 4matic v8 because nobody was buying the E63 amg s. Why spend over $100,000 on a E63 amg when you can get the E550 spend $2,500 with Rennteck and make the E550 just as fast as the E63 amg. Unbelievable 🤦‍♂️

2016 is the last year they stopped making the E550 sedan, and honestly I thought the same, but good ecu tunes for this engine didint come out for a couple years later sadly... However the same ecu stage 1 tune I did on this e550, if I were to do it to an e63s the power would be close to 700hp and 1000nm of torque... 😅 but for just a simple family Sedan the e550 is an amazing car for sure

It's the whole thing about downsizing and emissions, thats why the brought back the E400, a stage 1 tune is 480hp, but the sound sucks in comparison even with an exhaust, I miss my slower older ml550 because of its 5.5L V8

@@bettywhipz6346 actually 2014 was the last year for the E550 sedan. 2015 they went to a E400 V6 biturbo.

@@bettywhipz6346 would the 2016 cls550 be faster with ecu tune ? Since it has the same engine, But an improved 9 speed transmission. Would that be a good buy ? I’m deciding between this e550, 2016 cls550, or a 2017 c43 Amg.

I'm getting a 03 CL500 as my first car in about 4 days, won't be nearly as fast but I plan on putting an X-pipe.

my 02 SL500 sounds amazing with its secondary cats and the resonator deleted and with mag flow mufflers on the back, just the right volume for the roof down and not to piss anyone off too much

If this is your first car don’t mess around with it to much. Sounds like it has a healthy motor and always better to keep it standard until a few yrs are up.. then modify it

Thinking to stage 2 my 14 e550. How did the stage 1 improve your 0-60? I read mixed comments saying not much difference in gears 1-2 due to torque limits

Wow I have the 2010 man 😁 I’ve seen them go as fast As an E63 the E550 with those turbos man .. it’s wild stage 1-2 tune is amazing…. That’s crazy an it has less horsepower just shows how amazing there cars are an these mfers are heavy dude I always forget how heavy they are moving that much weight so quick it’s crazy … Mercedes is like always on point.

If you have the 2010, you are basically stuck with a pointless V8 Mercedes. The 5.5 L has no known modifications in the world as far as power increase. It’s incredibly slow and incredibly under powered for such a big V-8 nowadays. It makes the same amount of power as most four cylinders. The 2012-2014 has the TwinTurbo V8, which has great opportunities for power, but they are not meant to handle the power of an e63. You can get it near e63 power but not as much without really pouring money into it
