Been a Seahawks fan since my first year in flag football, 2000. Winning the Super Bowl was so underwhelming because as soon as preseason started I knew we were winning it all.
I've come across quite a few Niner fans since the game that have given the lamest excuses as to why they lost, such as: a running into the kicker that was called roughing (I'm not quite sure if it was the other way around, but you get the context), the goal line fumble that wasn't awarded to Bowman (even though they ended up getting the ball back the very next play, 20 yards ahead of where they would have received it had they awarded the ball to Bowman), or the holding by Seattle's DB's. Here's the thing: one play in the 2nd quarter does not mean that it took away from the scoreboard. What I mean is if a team scores, but a bad penalty takes away that 7 points, it doesn't mean they would have won the game had that penalty not been called and they lost by 6, as was the case here. Let's just face it: my beloved 49ers lost fair and square to the Seahawks, who made the bigger plays down the stretch. And as for the holding and constant physicality of Seattle's secondary, they're smart. They're one of the most penalized teams in the NFL, and a lot has to do with that physicality. HOWEVER, they know that the refs won't call those all game long. They'll call it sporadically. Jamming on the line and physicality on receivers takes away timing and spacing. So, say they take away three or four 10 yard quick slants. That's about 30-40 yards. However, the secondary will only be called on one or two penalties per game, usually. So, the tradeoff is about 20 yards less per game which may seem minimal, but in the grand scheme of things, opponents passing yards per game are separated not too deeply from team to team and 20 less yards can be the difference between the 18th ranked pass defense, and the 5th ranked pass defense. Sorry, I got a little bit technical on everybody. But, to my original point, I wish my fellow 49er fans would quit nitpicking excuses as to why they lost the game. They simply flailed down the stretch. Kudos to Seattle. I respect the hell out of the way the play the game, and I hope to God there's an NFC Title Game rematch.

it’s not because i’m a seahawks fan, but this has gotten be at the top of the best playoff games ever it was all well round pretty much came down to one play IMO best playoff game that’s not a super bowl
@1:55 look at the bottom at T. Brock . with 10 minutes left in 3rd art and your up, he stops mid play but hustles again so that play could have easily been stopped at the 22 yard like about if players didn't quit mid play, he's a average CB

Seahawk fans, 49er fans, and football fans in general lost out in a good potential 4/5 year rivalry between these 2 teams. Football has not been this good since.

But it wasn't, it as at Centurylink so, the Seahawks had that advantage. It doesn't matter if playing at Candlestick would have been different. The 49ers didn't earn that privilege in the regular season. Besides, the 49ers barely won at home against the Seahawks.

I think they are the second best team in the NFL, but that doesn't mean the past can be changed and they would have presumed victory if not for a circumstance. Still the best game I ever watched. You had to have known the intensity of the rivalry, the hatred, and the inevitability that these two teams would meet for a 3rd time. I'm actually happy the rivalry has cooled off, though. When the Hawks and 49ers played, it was brutal.
What most people didn't see was Sherman was trying to shake his hand and be nice even though Crabtree was talking mad shit about Sherman that entire week on Facebook. That was why Sherman was so mad when he got interviewed after just coming off the field.

It benefited the 49ers nonetheless because the Hawks fumbled on the next play giving the Niners the ball back in better field position, and they still couldn't do anything with it.
Great Video! I don't care what anybody says. We got our Superbowl! It's the best thing to ever happen to our city and state in sports, since the Sonics won the NBA title. But the Sonics are gone now and this was a great win for all the sports fans in the Great Northwest to celebrate.
On the play Kap threw the game sealing INT, #11 was wide open. He could have gotten an easy 5 yards and gotten out of bounds. Stil would have had about 23 seconds and 2 Timeouts and been about 12 yards away. Kap truly did choke.
Unless kap threw the ball in under a second - he would never look to the left side of the field. Dude was so trash he had to fake being woke just to stay relevant.
