I wish I could growl like Joel. His voice is definitely definitive of how his lyrics feel and mean. Even his voice when he sings clean are insane. Absolutely a band to signify a generation
"We call it Pittsburgh because on the 2013 Warped Tour Joel had a seizure, just from drinking too much and being overheated - it was really hot. I think he wrote a song about how he felt after that situation, I think it's generally about how he feels to this day."
I don't blame him lol. I was at the show in Detroit the next night and it was freezing. like, I think it hit about -18, so I'd imagine Chicago wasn't much better haha
he usually does but in this vid sounds like shit, he was probably sick or something.... if you cant hear this shit being so off key then you're just deaff
If you look up Death's Hand from this same set, he sounds a lot better. I was thinking the same thing and I'm wondering if he didn't warm up or something beforehand since this is the first song.
It’s a very hard song for Arhen to sing, today here in 2024 as I’m writing this they’ve been playing Pittsburgh 3 keys down from the original tuning since Vans Warped Tour 2018
Juho Stèn plus he's playing bass as well but again not terrible after awhile u get used too Ahren's live performance and almost becomes the norm however studio he sounds better and I can understand y as they make his voice sound better then it actually is.
pattyrafter88 Like honestly if your clean vocalist is that mediocre compared to the rest of your band, get a guy specifically for clean vocals, this isnt a small band.
Does ahren use a pitch shifter to tune down his bass along with the other guitarists constantly as well ? Or is there another method? This is fucking my head up
Let me tell you something, I really love TAA and their music has helped me through a lot of rough times. Now with all that being said I have to tell you that the Bass guitar is back tracked and has been for years now, Ahren doesn’t even try to hide it and still til this day they back track the bass.
I keep seeing how the bassist sucks live, but I don't think that's the case. I think he's just straining to sing in the key he's in. Just because you can't sing in a certain key doesn't make you bad singer. HOWEVER, if you write and record a song that you knew you wouldn't be able to perform live then that DOES make you sorta irresponsible as an artist. Either write songs you can actually perform, or just don't do it live. There's no shame in either of those. 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
I've seen a few videos of their live performances and i see this question a lot. Either way they have really bad luck with him being sick while recording these gigs. Or he is just... not as good as on the album.
wtf is ahren doing, normally hes rlly good at the singing, ive seen them live multple times now but this is just plain off key ... well this is from 5 years ago so i cant judge that much
a7x4lrev That's a lie. Or you don't know what you're talking about. Listen to Aaron Pauley from Of Mice & Men, Roland Johannsen from The Unguided, Jason Cameron from Bury Tomorrow or Richard Rogers from Secrets.
The Saddest Ending Aaron is amazing, have you ever heard him live. Ahren is good in his middle register(like Open Letter) but he doesn't have any control in his higher register.
California avi8tor absolutely not true. Every time I die anyone? August burns red? If you rehearse and have enough talent, it shows in your live performances.
