the wire harness should be in behind the c pilar plastic. one of the other youtube vids showed it. it is a pain in the ass to get to but it should be there.

It really does. I actually had to turn the base down a little. I’m happy with my purchase.

just open up a wire coat hanger and send it through the grommet under the dash. Find it in the engine compartment and make a small hook on the end. Tape any wire you want to send through the grommet and pull it through. It helps if you have someone feeding the wire in while you pull it.

@@carloszamora1128 FORScan is available online, but in order to use some features, you'll need to purchase the extended license, which is like 10 dollars for a year.

@@Thalor What do you mean "is it mobile?" My truck? Yeah, it runs fine. If you're talking about FORScan, there's a lite version of it on the Google play store, but chances are you can't do a whole lot with it. I run FORScan on my laptop with the extended license and have all the full functionality of the program. In my opinion, the extended license is absolutely worth paying for.

I believe you're talking about enabling the factory sub connector that's under the rear door. This kit gets it's inputs by tapping into the left front door speaker. I think the front door speakers are "full signal", so plenty of bass. I've read that you don't want to tap into the rear door speakers, because they don't have a full spectrum signal from the radio like the front door speakers do.

It’s to allow for the plate to seat firmly against the truck bed and also for the holes on the top bracket line up .

The B&O is great but the kicker will bang harder for sure

B&O is pretty awful so this Kicker upgrade should be an improvement. My 2019 Ford SD has the B&O stereo and it's the worst radio I've had since my 1997 GMC. No real bass at all. My 2014 Ram had Alpine and that was an above average factory radio in my opinion.

I sure hope its better, my B&O doesnt sound all that great with bass

VGL3Z-18808-A is more for trucks that have the connector in the rear (WPT1212) VKL3Z18808A is for truck that don’t have the connector in the rear and have start/stop feature

I installed it on my 2016 F150 and it was plugged and play. Sounds far better than any b&o factory system I have heard.

@@offroad605 hey Craig, does this drain your battery since there’s no remote wire? How does the amp shut off?

@RSfolls it never drained my battery. It is wired inline with the factory harness behind the radio. I'm sure the Amp either shuts off with the ignition or no sound coming from the speaker wires. I had it for years and never had a dead battery.

They have to be speaker wires. The subwoofer has to get an audio signal from somewhere. I'm looking at a wiring diagram on Mitchell ProDemand for a 2020 F150, and from what I'm seeing, the left front speaker positive is the white wire, the left front negative is white with a brown stripe. There's obviously going to be a crossover in the sub to filter out the high frequencies, but without an audio feed, the sub won't produce anything.

Wouldnt it be easier just too tap from the speakers on the back doors ?

It is discontinued but google a little harder. I got one last week (March 2021)

According to the kicker website, it's out of stock, and it's not available from stage 3 either. Either there's a ridiculously high demand for these things or they pulled the plug on production due to some unforeseen product flaw. Guess time will tell.
