It's no secret that wheel hop is an issue in the 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 , 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, or 2023 Mustang because of the IRS. Many people believe that the main cause of wheel hop is flex in the subframe where it is attached to the chassis. Steeda has come up with a great way to fix this, using their bushing support system. Today, we're going to install them on Yassen's 2015 Mustang GT.

For those of you that want to try this at on in the garage; I just did it. Please do this, to facilitate a good and fast installation, the toughest part is the two piece lower on the aft mounts. I took a grinder and took off the corner edge of the smaller two piece fitting so it would not drag as much on the bushing when you install it. Also, REMOVE THE REAR TIRES. I didn't do this on the first half I did and it took the longest and I was learning. The second half took me 1/3 the time and did almost everything setting on a small stool where the rear tire was. Wish I would have read something about it sooner. Not a hard install by any means and everyone should be able to to it at home by yourself.

I dont want to compromise the integrity of the piece with grinding, but im currently stuck on that part. Have you had any issues or increased NVH from grinding the piece down?

will these raise the rear end a 1/4 inch? if so would work perfect for sportline springs if you want a slight rake to compensate for larger tire or weight in the car.

my right rear Irs top bushing doesn't go in , there isn't enough room to slide in. I had no problem with the left side. my subframe is all the way down as it goes.

Andres Rios You must have the 2016 GT model like myself as we had major difficulties getting it in and managed to get it in with 2 guys. Even Steeda's subframe brace was also a pain on the passenger side as you couldn't just loosely thread them in and took 2 guys as I had to use a prying bar to position it and the second person threading it in! Steeda should also mention that on Base not PP 2016 GTs you will have a more stiffer ride but they will deny that and give you the same bullshit response and say "We've sold over 2500 units and no one has reported any problems "...I guess I'm just crazy because one of the main reasons I chose the base GT because of the softer suspension compared to the PP, now my car rides like a PP!

Bill, I'm thinking about getting these and the differential bushings. Does the car ride harder/stiffer with these two part numbers installed?? Thx in Advance, Dennis

+Dennis H I did not notice any changes in NVH with my car, I went with the red bushings for the diff

Bill Tumas Bill on a PP that we all know you have you probably won't notice anything but I can assure you on a base 2016 GT it will change it drastically as from a nice soft ride to more like a PP stiffness. I got the bushings and the subframe brace from Steeda and installation on a 2016 is also much more difficult than a 2015, it does not go on as easy as what they showed on Steeda's video for the 2016!

Hey Bill, do we have to retorque these subframe bolts after a few hundred miles because the new bushings? I figure they would settle and loosen the main subframe bolts?

It's never a bad idea to check them, I removed mine for a new install the other day and they were still tight

Bill can I do like one side at a time like passenger front& back and do the same on the driver side . With doing has I mentioned will I still need and wheel alignment it shouldn’t have move the setting or the alignment. Thanks for you great video!

Doing one side of the subframe at a time will keep the subframe where it was from the factory which is not always straight.

CJ Pony Parts so what you are saying Bill Ford didn’t straighten the subframe on, on this 2017 model also. Question if decide to try to installed one alignment Steeda sleeve with support if it push in easy with lube it would be ok to continue. Also by measuring from side to side with a plum bob on a string it look about a strong 1/16 in different. Thanks!

I bought this kit oh good day and night Difference would definitely recommend this for your car. I was skeptical at first even my gf noticed it, she feels the car runs smoother on part throttle. It still fishtails on hard launched but definitely improved from stock

Do these support the bushings horizontally or just vertically?

Seems like vertically only, horizontal would be the IRS braces product

5FaLlEn5 They both do the job, IMHO I think the supports will add a little more strength

​@@demolaj1I just did the support braces but that by itself doesn't eliminate wheel hop because it seems most of the hop comes from vertical movement which this aims to fix

Does it have to be nessesary to be 100ft pound? Or just tight with the impact

Bill, when you started, I thought I saw the Steeda Sub Frame Alignment bushings in there. Was I seeing things???
