I think it's important to note that Ciara's Mic pack went out seconds before she went live. Her background singer had to quickly give Ciara her pack, but this pack was delayed causing Ciara to have a hiccup in the beginning. Overall, Ciara closed it out very well, all circumstances considered. I especially loved how she nailed belting "and the Rockets red glare" it's obvious Ciara is not a Whitney or Mariah but I appreciate her unique tone. Not everyone has to be a powerhouse singer to be talented...

If u can sing, u can sing. There was no music in the background to keep up with.The battery pack going out is only a slight excuse. She has been in the game too long. It wasn't good from beginning to end. Her style mirrors Janet Jackson, and Janet would have NOT sung that live, because Janet knows and understands her vocal range.

💯 Ciara is a beauty and a dancer.Not a singer. She should of had that performance prerecorded. This was BAD. She has been singing 10-15 yrs and absolutely no growth in her vocals. I am not a hater, but a music lover calling a spade a spade. If I was her, I would have a plan B in fashion and dance her strongest points.

Aaw she was nervous, I could hear it in her voice, it was really shaky, it's understandable though people take the star spangled banner very seriously and make all types of comparisons, I'd be super nervous too, but I give her props for doing it live most people don't, but she probably should have sang with a pre recorded track or lip synced so that you couldn't hear the nervousness in her voice, I've heard her sing the star spangled banner before and she can sing it very well, her nerves just got the best of her here

***** Your opinion not mine and that really isn't an opinion but we'll just call it one. Like I said I've heard her sing it and she sings it well, she's always been a little nervous singing in front of certain audiences, it isn't an excuse it's fact that is obvious if you watch her enough. People need to remember Ciara can sing but is not a singer she's a music artist and performer, those are completely different things. Is she the best singer no, but she can hold a note and does have a voice and it's unique and has its own sound.

This is a perfect example of when someone can sing.....A LITTLE....but they are nervous....this is the result. Ciara does NOT have a "bad" voice....she has a "decent" voice but that's it, so that combined with nerves is why she sounded shaky and off on certain parts....but then there were parts where she actually sounded good. There were times in Whitney Houston's early career when she sang live and I could tell she was nervous, but her voice was so amazing, that she sounded great regardless...her voice was so strong and rich, that nerves could'nt throw her off her game. Ciara does'nt have pipes like that.

People let be honest not everybody can sing the national anthem. It made for someone with a powerhouse voice. Ciara is not a powerhouse she a beautiful angelic voice. That if you think about it is most unique. She not trying to be like other artists. A lot of people don't understand the struggle you have with your voice. Trying to get it to sound like everybody else. She doesn't she is Ciara.

Ciara need to get singing lessons. I like Ciara but this performance wasn't that great at all! Then, she got her background singers that sung better than she did! When you are a lead vocalist, you should never let your background singers outsing you under any circumstances! Ciara should never sing the national anthem ever again! You can definitely hear that her voice has improved but at the same time., the star spangled banner is not an easy song to sing. Only so many people can actually sing that song to "t". And when your strong point is not your vocals but you're height., body build and dancing ability., then stick to that. Those are the things that people love about you.

Joshua Brown . I may not have her level of stardom but I’ve sang the national anthem at venues . Solo. As a male that’s very challenging. Ciara cannot sing unless she shouts, not even belts. For a gifted dancer who constantly exercises her diaphragm and core abs, there is no reason she should not be able to sustain even the basic of notes. I give her credit for trying , and always singing live, but this was a travesty.

Excuses excuses excuses, Cici is not a singer nor does she have a voice for such song. Therefore she should not be singing the National Anthem just cuz she can pay to do it. Po' thang. This doggon girl never could sing. I have no idea how she managed to get a record deal. She had to have background singers because she knew she couldn't sing. She started out off-key and pitchy. Obviously not a good performance.
