This weekend I present to you the full Drive & Sound test with the recently facelifted 2014/2015 Audi A8 3.0 TDI Clean Diesel developing 258 hp and 580 Nm of torque over a wide powerband. In contrast to the A6/A7 that feature a 7-speed S-Tronic with this engine the A8 always comes standard with the great 8-Gear ZF transmission. We had this A8 for our 2.000 km road trip to the Geneva Motor Show and it was the perfect mate for a journey like that. The car is very quiet so you drive high speeds for a longer time without getting tired. Also the punch of the engine and the fuel consumption are very good. As you can see in the acceleration clip the transmission has fast gear changes and the car accelerates pretty decent to 200 km/h despite the weight of almost 2 tones. In comparison, a LCI BMW 740d is around 1.5 sec. faster to 200 km/h, but also having more horsepower (313) and a bit more torque (630). Please make sure to LIKE / COMMENT / SUBSCRIBE!

All it is is a bigger version of a4, exception of the a7 pretty much all Audi car models are all the same and look the same but just bigger versions A4 is just a bigger version of a A3, A5 bigger version of A4, A5 bigger version of A4 and so on with their models

did u ever drive an audi a8? i drove the a8 4.2 tfsi in D3 Version. There is a huge difference between an a4 and an a8 d3. If you are talking about the outer design, then i see what you mean. i hope this will be fixed in the new series. i can hardly diffincirate between an a6 and a8 on the road.

+Rook Lou Audi A8 is a luxury car. The A4 is not. A4 is audi's cheap smaller model for the people that wants an Audi but can't afford one. Big difference. Don't ever put A4 next to an A8.

@@elclementeD3 was a luxury car based on Bentley. D4 is a Skoda Superb/A4/A6/Q5 and it shows. I was forced to downgrade to D4 by inevitable ravages of time on a D3 I had for 15 years.

Hat der Wagen dir im Vergleich zum 320 PS A7 genug Bums gehabt oder würde sich die 4,2l V8 TDI Version lohnen? Vorrausgesetzt du hast diesen schon mal gefahren. ;) Und wie ist der A8 von Lautstärke im Innenraum im Verlgeich zum 7er und der S-Klasse? Schönes Video wie immer!

GermanCptSlow Also, ich muss wirklich sagen dass der 258 PS TDI eine wirklich gute Figur macht. Bin den 4.2. TDI mal kurz gefahren, würde ihn aber als nicht so viel besser einstufen, dass sich der extreme Aufpreis und auch der höhere Verbrauch lohnt, dieser 3.0 TDI ist ein Sahnemotor. Lautstärke im Innenraum fand ich persönlich sehr angenehm, die S-Klasse und der 7er den ich mal hatte waren da sicherlich nicht besser, aber auch nicht schlechter. Vom Innenraum ist die S-Klasse klar der Gewinner dieses Vergleiches, aber sie fährt sich auch irgendwie behäbiger...der A8 ist im Alltag der bessere Begleiter.

Automann-TV Der 4.2TDi nicht viel besser einstufen? Fast 2 Sek. bis 100km/h schneller und 10 Sek. von 100-200km/h als der 3.0TDI. Wenn das kein Unterschied ist dann weiß ich auch nicht. Der 3.0TDI hat mit dem Gewicht deutlich zu kämpfen.

@AudiA8L42TDI you have a point also you are Mt fav RU-vid by far and I bought a 3.0 tdi because the 4.2 with full options wasn't available in the UK So I got a 3.0 tdi with a remap and now it makes 340hp and 810nm which I would say isn't bad but Still no match to the incredible a8 you had

Why when you start it she stay at 900 rpm ? It is normal ? From what I know a 3.0tdi V6 need to stay at 800rpm idle I want to buy an A8 from same year but I have that retention

I like you and youre Videos because you test very nice, expensive, crazy new and fast cars. I want to buy a nice V8 Diesel car and my budget ist around 15.000€. Ive been looking for an Audi A8 4.0L or 4.2L of the year 2005-2007. Can you please tell me if the car ist good or not!? And if you had the same budget, which V8 Diesel car would you buy? And do you speak german?

+Gtaplayer 135 Yes, I speak German;) For 15.000 EUR I would probably more go for a 3.0 Diesel as the V8s will have a lot of miles on the clock for that price and/or are more expensive to maintain. What about a VW Phaeton with 3.0 Diesel for 15k....there you can have even 2010 model year for that price.

Ok gut. Ich habe ein paar Audi A8 4.0 und 4.2 V8 TDI Modelle mit weniger als 140.000km gefunden.Optisch und technisch einwandfrei. Bis dahin könnte ich vielleicht noch 2000€ drauflegen. Aber was ich wissen muss ist, ob das Auto an sich stabil (Motor-Getriebe) ist!? Ich werde mit dem auto viele Km am Stück zurücklegen (Viel Autobahn) und werde solange es möglich ist um die 220km/h schnell fahren. Empfehlst du mir das Auto als Anfänger Auto da ich bald 17 bin??? Oder empfehlst du mir was anderes?

Gtaplayer 135 Was du fahren möchtest musst du selbst entscheiden, ob ein Audi A8 für einen 17/18-järhrigen "politisch" die richtige Entscheidung ist steht auch auf einem andere Blatt;) Was du aber auf jeden Fall tun solltest ist nicht nur die Kaufpreise von Autos zu vergleichen sondern auch deren Unterhaltskosten wir Sprit, Wartung, Versicherung etc. Die daraus resultierenden Vollkosten geben ein deutlich besseres Bild darüber ob man sich das Auto leisten kann oder mag als der reine Kaufpreis. Nur mal so als Anhaltspunkt...bei einem 2007er Audi A8 V8 sind die Anschaffungskosten nur ca. 50% der mtl. bzw. jährlichen Gesamtkosten, vielleicht sogar noch weniger. Ein Werkstattaufenthalt kann beim A8 schnell mal ein paar tausend EUR kosten, auch wenn man das außerhalb von Audi Vertragswerkstätten macht. Such dir im Netz mal eine Anleitung zum berechnen der Vollkosten und pflege dort mal mehrere Fahrzeuge deiner Wahl ein....

Das weiß ich ja und ob es jetzt 100€ 1000€ oder mehr kostet (Spritkosten, Werksattbesuch etc.) ist mir egal, aber denkst du dass, das Auto an sich solide ist oder werden mich böse Überrachungen (Motor-Getriebeschäder o.ä.) erwarten?

@@gtaplayer1456 spätestens bei den Rechnungen wirds dir nicht mehr egal sein. Nen A8 ist einfach kein Anfänger Auto. Schon gar nicht mit 4L Hubraum. Donnerst du durchgehend mit Vmax über die Bahn, wird es dir kein Motor der Welt danken, egal welches Auto und wie solide es ist. Warm und Kalt fahren ist hier das zauberwort. Additive sind wichtig und vor allem regelmäßiger Ölwechsel (grade wenn man oft sehr schnell über die Bahn fährt ist es Pflicht alle 15k Kilometer nen Ölwechsel zu machen )

in der Beschreibung steht dass der BMW mehr PS hat. Logisch!!!! Weil es ja auch der 740d und nicht der 730d ist. Dass der auch ein V6 ist lassen wir mal bei Seite. Aber logisch dass der mehr Kraft hat.
