I’m happy to see my dream car exhaust reveal. Just love the f06. I can’t wait to be able to buy one. I just the looks and that beautiful sound of v8 hands down best bmw in my opinion. This made my day!

It would flow and sound better if you use full 3" tubing instead of the 2.5" being used.

I have to agree. I went with 2.75" on mine and it pulled noticeably better. 3" might be just that much better.

I wonder if it would sound even better with an X-pipe in place of the where the Vibrant mufflers are, and move the vibrant mufflers in place of the 2 1/2 pipe at the end.

I've tried H-pipes and X-pipes on this engine and the sound does change noticeably between the two, but I think you are hearing the Vibrants more than anything and they will get louder and raspier in short order when they break in. At that point, the owner will be back trying to figure out how to kill the drone. He may have done better to have stolen a page out of the Chrysler/Dodge boys' handbook, leaving the stock center resonator in place and using the Vibrants to replace the rear mufflers the same way Challenger and Charger owners replace the mid-mufflers with Vibrants and leave the stock rear resonators to kill drone.

Doesn't sound terrible; I am surprised how much that H-pipe killed a lot of rasp and volume, but those Vibrants are going to break in and when they do, I am very confident that they will drone unbelievably. He needs to add some real mufflers in the rear and maybe a Helmholtz resonator or a J-pipe to keep it livable. Nice start. B-

Completely depends on you. Everyone who gets in my car says it drones like a bitch but I never notice it, even right when I first got the exhaust installed.

@@joeym3755 very true. Not everyone perceives sound exactly the same way and there are also different levels of drone. Sometimes it's just a mild hum, but it can be as bad as a very noticeable vibration. Either way, I wish the owner of this car the best. I am not enthralled with the sound of his exhaust, but I think he may be on the right track to improving it.
