The reason why the GSR (Grand Sport Rally) model of all the Evo generations has a 5 speed, is because professional rally drivers told Mitsubishi that for rally the 5 speed is better. The Evo MR models have a 6 speed because there more for track, that's why they're MR models, MR stands for Mitsubishi Racing. Nonetheless all Evos are rally cars at heart.
i got my recaro seats stock in final edition here in canada and i love beating those STI whether its on the drag strip or just a little 0-100 kph always fun to see them in my rear view mirror but not as fun a see audis behind me lol
Nice FE! I'm picking up my 2015 GSR on Saturday. It's got the Premium Package with the aero kit in Phantom Black. I may see you around as I'm also from MN. My three brothers have an Evo X too. So we got a red, blue, white and now a black Evo in the family. You may see a color rush on 94.
I bought my Evo FE (US0155) in JAN. Loving it but am real pissed it didn't get Recaro seats or any of the factory packages like sun and sound. Mine did come with the engine appearance package. Dealers are quoting $4k for one seat! If anyone knows how I can order the FE Recaros or the heated leather ones the MR's had, please tell me. I do want the side airbags and no warning lights to come on either so I want it just like it would have come factory.
l love the Evo FE, the only downside are the seats. Mitsubishi is actually offering 0% APR on all EVO's. I think that is very tempting considering you can't get that special rate financing with a Focus RS, Subaru STI, nor the upcoming Civic Type R. I checked Auto Trader and was able to find over 50 new EVO FE.
bellotmehdi go and try to order an Evo in Canada u will get the recaros plus u can pick whatever u want on the car. I did that and just got the car today Im so exited with my new Evo. Lucky to own 2
After looking at your car I need to clean my FE also. I got the aero kit also but a lot of people say the aero kit is not DW. But I believe my FE aero kit has the correct color. It looks like your is correct too.
Not going to drive it??? What the.... she wants to be driven buddy. Its an Evo, give her boost and love. My FE has been the car of my life. I don't care about the little blemishes, one day it will all be restored. It makes going to work every day worth every minute. Not just staring at it.
You don't buy a race car for comfort. It's a race car. Also you buy this car to baby it. It's a final edition they will be worth a lot of money 10yrs from now. How did you get the aero kit. Is that separate?
I haven't found an answer to this yet but I see some FE's with a black-out lower front bumber and some like yours with the paint all the way across. Any idea as to why the difference on factory models?
Your car looks great, I just picked up the 15 FE myself, noticed right away it looks like you have a front lip and different side skirts than mine came with, was that an option or what? and to everyone saying the price is too high compared to the Subaru, I traded in my subie for this car, and the price difference makes total sense in reliability alone, not to mention the ease of performance gains over Subaru.
I saw canadian FE recaro seats are much nicer than u.s. regular recaro seats. And I can't justify the price for being an FE without any special upgrade aside from the badge and minor stuffs, especially without the FE recaro seats.
Its sad they held back and didn't give u the recaros, thought they would have gone all out with this car for the final edition, this makes me feel like the car is not so special anymore.
RAVI per 2015 US safety standards, all 2015 cars have to have side airbags. Mitsubishi wasn't going to have seats re-engineered to one model year. Blame our government, not Mitsubishi.
+SkyTheDestroyer- I test drove one before I traded in my 14' evo x for this final edition. It was alright, the only thing that I think the sti 1 upped the Evo is the 6spd transmission. other than that I just wasn't a fan of the EJ25 engine, its just so outdated, doesn't have forged pistons from factory like the evo's, and a less efficient top mount intercooler.
Well its completely true, you'll just be another fanboy if you don't agree lol. Engine is outdated af, its sad that hes able to compare it to an 06 wrx. EvoX were def. the better car. You can make more power for the money and alot more reliably.
