Hi in this video I will show you how to get to the fog light parking light and turn signal on your Ford escape. Products used: amzn.to/3bj6VTj amzn.to/3bs4bCY You can support me here thanks: www.paypal.me/... amzn.to/3PNivsf
I didn't think I could do it at first but after watching you I got in there and successfully changed the bulb. Yes you did help someone today. Thank you!!!!!!
You saved me $200! I was able to do this by feel without removing the tire, just loosening the splash shield and reaching in. Slide the bulb out, put the new one in and twist it back into place. Helps if you have tiny feminine arms too haha! Can’t see but once you do one side then other is a breeze
Sadists made this light bulb assembly, I'm trying to change the bulb on the driver's side and there's a big plastic bumper piece in the way this is ridiculous
Thank you!!!!!! Your final advice on video was to drop wiring low in front trim and use two arms. My husband, son, and I spent over 2.5 hrs, taking turns. Your advice kept me from giving up and finishing this job on my own....YES! I had to lay under vehicle with arms over my head, and go by feel and logic. Didn't help that the old bulb was stuck though.
Ford now offers a life time warranty on their engines and drive trains... they should do the same for their bulbs. Ridiculous that this should be so difficult, but clearly the dealers are telling FoMoCo they want some business in their maintenance shops. Thank you for posting.
Followed your procedure with the addition of removing the tire. My arms and shoulders are larger than yours. Successfully replaced the bulb. Used surgical glove on one hand to put new bulb in, because you don’t want to Touch new bulb and get oil from your hands on the bulb causing premature burn out.
I found it was easier to unclip the wire to the bulb holder. Then I twisted the bulb/holder out and removed it. I then put the new bulb in the holder, twisted the holder into the housing, and reclipped the wire. This allowed me to do it with one hand inside instead of two. My arm was too big to fit otherwise.
Ford Escapes suck! These bulbs, you have to remove the wipers and cowl to replace the battery, the cabin air filter is a nightmare! My next will be a Honda CRV. But this video is awesome! Thank you!
Good god, makes think it would be better if the driver’s one would just burn out! Thanks for posting as I now know it would likely take me and my abilities all day!
Those bulbs were a bitch to get to. I ended up taking off my tire but in the end I finally got my blinker working again. Thanks man your video helped alot for a guy that doesn't work on cars. So keep on keeping on!
2014 Escape 1.6l. The easiest way to replace the driver side turn signal bulb is to remove the air filter cover & filter(4 x 8mm bolts). Then remove the lower filter housing (2 x 8mm bolts) on the left side close to throttle body tube. Unhook One other strap on intake piece. Bottom lifts out easily.
2014 Escape 1.6l. On the passenger side….I was able to drive my escape onto ramps. Remove the splash guard like you do to change oil and reach in by the washer tank. There was enough room to get the turn signal bulb out. I didn’t try the running light or fog light bulb. You might try that method to confirm.
If you arm is small enough, you can reach in from the top and change the bulb with one hand. My wife just did it. You don’t have to remove anything. It’s not easy though
Well Ford....I love my Escape but you seriously need to fire the idiot that came up with this. I could literally change all 4 headlights in my old Camaro in the time this takes.
You don't need 2 hands, after you peel back the inner Fender well, which is plastic. All you do is take your hand in there and squeeze the clip on the back of the bald and remove The Wire first and then pull the ball out that way 2 hands, there's not enough room to get in there to do it comfortably, especially if somebody has never done it before!and if it says a specific size, don't say we'll change it to this size and metric, that's not how it works. It's a specific size for a reason when you switch it up to metric, it's either too small or just a little too big and you can go ahead and screw up. Plastic clips and plugs and screws and bulheads as well. Exclaimed information point. Please be very thorough when you're instructing. People on how to do things you were shown how to do things. We'll have the same courtesy to explain to other people how to do things. There is a proper way and an improper way to do things. And the reason why you're not telling people how to do it exactly is because you were never shown properly in the first place.. Because I am older than you. I'm doing this as a teaching lesson for you as well! Being in the auto repair business think of it like this.... How many times did you take a suggestion from someone who showed you and ended up? Screwing up a part really, really bad. But as you did it more you got better at it because you curticked it? You gotta be straightforward with People if you want them to Understand what you are trying to teach them. If you do it the same way that you were shown and a person ends up doing it wrong, then they might come back and complain to you. Example.... You never stressed that this whole assembly is all plastic. That the white clips that hold those clips a fragile and break real easy also that there is a screw that is at the bottom of the fender that you can't see. Also that they need a "Philips" screw driver and not just a screw driver. Never " Half ass it"
Leave it to Ford to make what should be stupid simple a royal PITA. Love their trucks and SUVS but their engineers couldn't design their way out of a paper bag.
1NITIDO ey mi escape trai focos que no son leds y se los pensaba cambiar pero en linia no viene nada d cómo cambiar los focos o de qué tipo son como es 2019 no hay mucha información todavía
@@nestorautorepair ok if you are going to change the left directional or left turn signal, you'll realize that in the Bumper there's a Black cover, just above the fog and turn light, that black cover can easily be removed, and you will see a space that will allow you to see what you are doing, and then with your left hand you can reach the bulb trough the center part of the bumper.
Joel Jolly this my be true but not what the manual describes either. I will sum the video up though: Ford sucks. Ford obviously doesn't want people changing these at home anymore and are coming up with more and more ways to ensure that people head to the stealership. I have several 88-90 automobiles and I could change this bulb in any if them in under a minute.
