Awesome. The white on tan 6mt coupe is so rare and beautiful. Sounds awesome now. I have a 7th gen AV6-6, I was in the market for a white 2015 and couldn't find one. I'm now looking again this sounds so good
The entire system is 2.25 piping. If you are asking how large the body of the resonator is, I don't know, you'd have to ask Magnaflow that question I guess.
No, other than the Magnaflow catback the exhaust is stock. There really isn't a header available for these engines, the exhaust comes out of one large port in each head. You can add high flow cats or no-cat pipes and you can add a high flow J-pipe, but I haven't added any of those to this car.
Ok, I got the same color car as yours. Same Magnaflow Exhaust and an K&N Intake. That's all I got, it sounds very good but I do need a little more horsepower. Thank you for responding, I appreciate it.
@richnat I have a 13 6-6, also white but non HFP. How did you find the stock exhaust? Im finding it quite repulsive coming from my 7th gen 6-6 which had a whisper quiet exhaust. I do like the sound of the magnaflow thou, sounds amazing. I'm considering using their street series mufflers (part number 14832) when I build the exhaust for the car. I live in Canada and I just can't justify spending 1600$ for the magnaflow cat back when i can build it for half the price. Already have all the piping, 2.5" 304 stainless mandrel bent
my question to you is, does it have that v6 sound, and what I mean by that is, that sound of individual cylinders with piston fiering at different rate, usually know on v6's and v8's because I did like the magnaflow, but I don't want it to sound like a 4 cylinder either...
richnat i was looking at car id i think for the exhaust and there mentioned that the takeda was loud, the magnaflowmoderate and borla was also loud, what do you think? What is your honest opinion on all the choices you had and why did you chose the magna? Thanks bro
I've never heard the other two in person. I went with MF because I have their systems on multiple other cars and they are well made with quality materials, fit great and sound great. A low, relatively quite tone at idle and regular driving but get loud and have a nice cackle when you get into the throttle well.
Well, all I can add is that I have Magnaflow systems or mufflers on 4 of my 6 vehicles. I personally think it is the best blend of no drone with a mellow sound in everyday driving while giving a nice growl at higher RPMs. Not stupid loud in normal driving.
richnat sorry, I'm still learning about exhaust and mufflers. Not a ton of experience here. I have an 01 accord and I love how your car sounds and I'm just trying to get a good muffler kit. So far i like the tones of the magnaflow and I found 2 that fit my vehicle. One is about 85 dollars or so per muffler the other is 120 and I'm trying to figure out the difference
I don't believe Magnaflow lists the muffler part numbers they use in the kit but I'm sure if you contact Magnaflow they can identify the specific muffler part number. On their site they list the mufflers as being 14x5x8 inches with an inlet pipe size of 2.25 and a 4.5 inch outlet. For a reference, the catback kit is Magnaflow part number 19181. www.magnaflow.com/products?partNumber=19181&searchTerm=19181
Just installing the Magnaflow exhaust does not require a tune. The sound recorded here was with a stock tune. I've since added a tune via a KTuner, but adding a tune did not change the tone or sound of the exhaust in any way I could discern.
i have a 2012 6-6 atlp v2 j pipe 3rd cat delete.I went thru true bendz on ebay and bought 2.5 mandrill bent pipe kit for 7th gen,had to add like 18"on to front of kit. used 2.5 dynomax super turbo mufflers . Had alot of drone inside car and lost alot of bottom end.I bought a 2.5 porter 18" muffler/resonator and installed that where stock resonator was. That took anyway most all drone and has a pretty good sound i think.as loud as id want it.
@@robertalicea5585 Gain, as in a power gain? No, not really. On an otherwise stock car it is all about the sound. Now, it will help if you later do other modifications and a tune.
