Finally!!! $1600 later, two visits to the dealer and a rental car it was just this simple! Sounds like I need to contact corporate - I want my money back!!!
Was getting ready to have my car towed to hyundai when I viewed your post. I went to O'Reillys had my battery checked which was perfect, and bought those sleeves which you recommended which was a whopping 4.76. The fix was easy, my sincere thanks and appreciation. If your ever in Loveland, co. dinner is on me.
@@jehadnassar3545 I don't have that link, you can go to any parts house at the battery section which I'm sure they have. The sleeves go right over the terminals a simple fix.
This was my exact issue actually caused so much heat from the sparking is totally melted the positive end of the battery as if someone took a welding torch to it. Glad you figured it out! Has been a true mystery figured it could be harness as genesis has a reputation for them going bad over the years. But, this is the issue 100% even caused my car to shut off while driving and go into “limp” mode
It would have been helpful to see an "after the post sleeve install". the negative and positive posts shown on the video remain the same from beginning to end - no sleeve on either one.
The sleeve was installed on the positive connection in the video, when the sleeve is installed you cant see it, it slides over the existing battery post. There was nothing wrong with the negative battery connection, no sleeve was installed.
I am going to check this out Tomorrow . Thanks so much . I pray this is what solves this issue because the battery does at the worst times ! I hate it ! 😩
This video saved me big time, as I didn't know what to do, then I looked and saw my clamp wasn't tightened down and instead on other side of the trunk, was exactly is this 4 dollar part and how do I ask for it
Having the same issue. My car has been at the dealer for a week and they can’t seem to Locate the issue. I’m forwarding with link to my service consultant.
That was exactly what mine was doing. Put on a new sleeve presto everything now works properly...except my turn signal. No idea what's wrong. Replaced bulb didn't fix it.
Wow I had the same exact issue, car would lose power while driving sometimes and it would completely die when I would push to shut it off, i started to just touch the positive terminal or barley shake it and power would come back. Over time though, the positive metal on my battery had melted because of heat and sparks. I now need a new battery, which one is the right battery for my car ?
I'm on the side of the road right now and i think this is my issue. The battery was replaced about 3 weeks ago. The only problem is that i can't get my trunk to pop open. Doors are unlocked but the button on the back does nothing.
Update in driving now. I didn't have my actual key part so I had to go in from the back seat using a stick from the woods unlatch the trunk from the inside. I don't have a socket with me but just moving the+ terminal a bit got me going to the next O'Reilly
That was the exact same issue with this car, we were lucky and the trunk did pop for us when we boosted the car. Try boosting the car (on the hood side), that should get you enough power to pop the trunk.
Electrical issues can cause all sorts of problems. Given the little I know of your situation, before driving the car any more I’d check your transmission fluid level.
I’m having the exact same issue, I am able to start it up with a jump but as soon as I turn it off it makes a noise that sounds like the car immediately looses power before the steering wheel resets itself like it would normally do when you turn the car off. Any ideas?
Hi in my car, it keeps on giving me the battery discharge warning message when the car is off. Have no issues at all in using all electrical things in the car. Should i be worried with the message or what should I do?
