All I can say is Mr. Palmer it was an honor to know you even though I never met you...my respect and you are what I consider the embodiment of the American dream...a humble start and through hard work and perseverance became a legend and a great person worthy of all you built..God Bless and Rest In Peace..

I had the great luck to be eating in a fine dining restaurant in NJ years ago and saw Palmer. My wife who had just taken up the game that I have played for decades said "Look covertly over your right shoulder. Is that Arnold Palmer?" I thought she was pulling my leg. We were about 2 hours from where Arnie lived in Latrobe PA. But sure enough it was Arnie - our childhood hero as we grew up playing golf. My wife kept pestering me to go say Hi to him since, she knew, he had been such an iconic figurehead in my and my brother's lives - as golfers. I knew that Winnie had cancer and figured he wanted privacy having driven so far. So my wife asked the waiter that we knew quite well if that was indeed Palmer and he said "Mr. Palmer does come her not infrequently and sometimes driving even from Latrobe." [ likely a side trip from the USGA Headquarters just a few miles away from the restaurant] the restaurant. We finished but the Palmer's had not so as we walked by right next to their table unbeknownst to me, my wife who was in front of me winked at Arnie so all I saw was him looking at my wife and smiling a big smile. That was the only time I saw Palmer in person after having worshiped him and tried to copy his swing and "charge" for decades.

The Big 3 made golf the game it is today. Loved them all. Arnold was the greatest gentlemen of the game, not just a great golfer.

One of my favorite parts of the masters is the starter ceremony.

As great a golfer as Palmer was, he was an even greater person. A more beloved athlete we will never see. There have been a few who have been better, not many, but he made golf a sport to watch every time he played. I still miss seeing him

Why would Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player be “happy” to see Bubba Watson, Ricky Fowler and K Bradley?? Nicklaus has more in just Major wins than all 3 of them put together in just regular tournament wins......give me a break Bubba you are classless compared to those giants of Golf. I wouldn’t even put those names in the room as the Big 3..... Bubba go swear at your caddy for an 8 footer you missed on your own

Oh shut the fuck up Sap. Bubba and Ricky go to show respect to the greatest players to play the game and it's still not good enough for you? They weren't happy to see "Them" specifically, as in Bubba. They meant "Them" as in the younger generation. The big 3 were happy to see the younger generation showing respect and knowing their place. That's not good enough for you? Would you rather Bubba just didn't show and said "Who cares? He can't win anymore!" Shut the fuck up Sap, you're a bum who probably can't even break 100 on a par 3 course.

@@Sabogey Both Rickie Fowler and Bubba were there to greet Tiger after he won in 2019, along with Xander Schauffele, Zach Johnson, Justin Thomas, Brooks Koepka, Ian Poulter and Bernhard Langer.
