I've done this job on lots of cars I've owned over the years, but always try to find a video on the exact year and model I'm doing it on to double check if there will be any surprises or anything. Thanks for taking the time and being detailed; mentioning the socket sizes was awesome.

Wow that is super easy compared to my old 07 Mazda 3! I'd have to hammer down on the knuckle to release the shock in the knuckle socket. Looks like the strut/knuckle assembly is more integrated together and easier to disassemble/reassemble.

Did anyone notice that he installed the bottom bolts on the opposite direction after being marked 🤔, I wonder if that makes a difference.

I don't know what difference it makes, but the service manual specifically says not to do that.

Yes it does, there is a theory in case the nut get loose is the only thing thats going to fly away, because of the direction of the car movement and the bolt is about to stay in place.

Great vid and I used a jack under the rotor to lift or lower to get strut when I do these, I call it the wiggle up and down move. The bolts don't always wanna go in with a new strut sometimes.

went out of the way to mark the upper bolt and then installed it backwards.

what struts did you use to make sure the bracket holes lined up? Im looking at KYB struts but idk which ones for my 2015 M3 I Touring yet.

It holds the top mount to the spring, if you loosen that the spring pushes against the top mount and presses it off causing you some uh... issues, to say the least.
