This is a shortened version of the 2015 Sugar Bowl featuring The Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Alabama Crimson Tide. This video shows every single play but extra points. No fluff, just the plays.
As a Buckeye, I hardly remember playing Oregon, but I will never forget Zeke taking it 85 yards "through the heart of the South" and beating the unstoppable Bama. As a 4th seed! With a 3rd string Quaterback!
And as a result Ohio State is 1-4 against Alabama. 1957 Michigan 26 Georgia 0 1965 Georgia 15 Michigan 7 1921 Georgia 34 Michigan 11 1993 Georgia 21 Ohio State 14 1922 Georgia 42 Ohio State 41.
@@edwinbell3255 Yeah but Oregon is almost an afterthought after beating the Alabama Dynasty that still had quite a few years left to reign over NCAA. It's just not as memorable as 4th seed beating 1 seed. Barely squeaking in to first playoffs ever; people saying TCU had a better case, 3rd string QB, once you beat Bama you're 7 point favorites v Oregon.
@@nedstewart1 So much Cope; digging up 100 year old trivia, I'm glad this game still hurts so much you come here to my greatest game uploads to say dumb shit to try and get noticed. I know you didn't watch this upload, but Keep on digging up old score trivia, for the rest of your miserable lonely life as Tide aren't a dynasty and so your whole identity is just being a loser rooting for a loser.
i was also at this game but I ate some green meat or something and at the close of the 1st quarter I had to shit really bad. And would you believe I was in the crapper for the rest of the game.
@@allend2749 that's a sad story. My dad was puking during one of those games too, Ore or Bama, can't remember which. But you'd be surprised how often that happens. Probably because people eat as a part of celebrating/traveling/vacationing.
Ezekiel Elliott, Derek Henry, Michael Thomas, Amari Cooper, Joey Bosa, Landon Collins, Urban Meyer, Nick Saban, Tom Herman, Kirby Smart. There was so much elite talent in this game it is insane.
@@Reflectivityy 02 Osu vs Miami probably had the most talent on the field. 14 players were drafted from Osu in the draft and Miami had 5 players drafted in the first round draft.
the performance of Evan Spencer was absolutely huge. The throw to Thomas, the block that sprung zeke 85 yds for the clincher and that was a catch on the 1st drive of the game for OSU. You sir Mr. Spencer will never be forgotten.
Yes! Absolutely destroyed the LB on Zeke’s run and also sealed the game on the onside. He was the x-factor if not co-MVP of the most satisfying Bucks’ win I’ve ever watched.
@@iamthetoe always will get a Honorable Mention from me as a greatest buckeye simply because of that performance against Bama. Also, one of Urban's all time favorites.
scott bricker Losing to the team that won the National Championship is better than getting beat by the one that didn't. That game was the National Championship Game. Not the Oregon vs Ohio St. game.
bluemystic7501 they played nobody yet; oh how impressive they beat Florida Atlantic by 24. wait til they play a football team to say they’ll win it all.
bluemystic7501, The first reply said he could see a natty this year, I implied that he just meant they’re gonna win, my apology but I still can’t see a natty just yet, I’ll see one if they beat Wisconsin and Michigan
Zane Lee Errn .... 3rd down failures to convert are nott called turnovers, they are called failures to execute and that is an example of a bad team playing a good team. Bama got trucked !
Not at all what I was mentioning. The turnovers I was referring to were the pick 6 and the int after the bad punt by OSU around their 20. Those plays were the two biggest plays of the game. Both were bad passes by sims and changed the momentum of the game especially the tedzone pick .Honestly you are blind if you really think osu trucked bama.
Zane Lee I am not so blind as not to see the 4 turnovers that went to Bama which kept them in the game at all, and the catch by the Buckeyes that was ruled a none catch. I guess you missed those. Bama got trucked as expressed by all the networks, I guess you missed that also. To bad Tider, you couldn't talk your way into a title ..... again.
I'm a Florida fan and usually root for the SEC in non-conference games, but watching Urban Meyer get his revenge on Nick Saban by outcoaching him to another National Championship (with his third-string quarterback) is freakin' outstanding. I'm ready for the season to start! - Go Gators!!
+Franc Davis Urban didn't win by simply outcoaching Saban. He won by having the better team on his side. He's one of the best coaches out there, but it's pretty hard to win by outcoaching someone like Saban. Ohio State just had better football players. Even a mediocre or slightly above average coach could have pulled this win out. The only reason it was close was because of OSU's failure to finish drives, horrible field position, stupid turnovers and not to mention, some huge missed calls. You don't comeback down 21-6 by beating a superior team. Doesn't happen.
@@alexdelagrange2140 Outcoaching doesn't mean winning team is inferior. It's how pro games are won since the talent is so much closer. Good teams still blow out better teams, because a corner is burned in cover 3 by being outschemed with a hi lo means TD. Or a deep middle post split the safeties (which happened for a TD in this game) Its unreal the amount of sensitivity of CFB fans, you can't even praise a coaching job without getting someone upset.
Thanks for editing this video. Lived my first good 28 years in Ohio and last shit 17 in Texas. Was in Ohio for this game. It was a religious experience watching the Yankees beat up the Southerners. Thank you Buckeyes for a northern redemption.
Sean James the people from the south always talk like that when it comes to college football, he was just giving them a taste of their own medicine. Also people from Ohio are good people and have manners and respect othet people, more than I can say from where you come from. Have a nice rest of your life with your pitty existence!
Eric S Fisher So true, I live in the south and southern hospitality is pure bullshit. It's fake niceness, people from Ohio and Big Ten country are genuinely NICE people. O-H!
jinkerGM Amen about that "Southern Hospitality". I spent too much time stationed down south, and I couldn't deal with that saccharine-laced crap. It overwhelms a person so much they're liable to be put in a sugar coma if they don't pay attention! Midwesterner's are like oatmeal. We're dull and bland, but pretty damn good for you! Just like Urban. I love being back in Ohio. Not everybody wants to live under that Manson-Nixon Line.
Watching the condensed version of this game, I can't believe how great the special teams coverage was by both teams. So many kick offs and punts downed or players dropped inside the 20. Thank you so much for posting this.
Amazing how many future pros were on that field. Michael Thomas' TD catch just before halftime was probably the play of the game. And Bama wasn't prepared for Cardale as a runner.
First time I've re-watched this game since I was in NOLA; such a tough loss. A lot of people blame Blake for his struggles, or Kiffin for not running the ball enough. Personally I think most of the responsibility for the loss falls on the defense, 35 points should be enough to win a game if we want to be considered elite defensively. Either way, great game, congrats Buckeyes. All the OSU fans I came in contact with in NOLA were really pleasant people, it was nice to see so much mutual respect between two great programs.
cameronstate Could be that Nick Saban is paying more attention to his offense and not the defense like in previous years. Saban used to be involved in the defense almost entirely, now he is focused more on the offense with Lane Kiffin.
+cameronstate thank you for not being a classless SEC-chode and placing blame for the loss on everyone else. you're honest to god one of the first Bama fans I've seen that would actually admit the fault lies with Bama's D, and not the fact that "you guys won because Elliott's jersey was tucked under his pads and we couldn't tackle him..."(dead serious excuse I heard). it doesn't hurt me to say that Bama will be back, I wouldn't worry about this game. next year may be a "rebuilding" year, but think about this: THIS was supposed to be OUR "rebuilding" year..... and look what happened.
Finally, an SEC fan that isn't an asshole. (I know plenty from other conferences just SEC fans always seem to be a little ridiculous) someone that actually has respect for football, and understands the game.
That's actually not a bad statement (saying this in case your being sarcastic) he had a lot of amazing punts and this would of been a shitty game for Alabama if it wasn't for him.
@@thomaspaulgames77 I mean it was a shitty game for them if not for the mistakes early on in the game they let AL score from 25 yds out on the turnovers.
jmaal2345 42-35 isnt running on country boys you survived and honestly shouldnt have been there you know that as well bc if you truly listened no1 had ohio state in there they just was bc the committee didnt want backlash for putting baylor in js
we didn't get trampled or slaughtered compared to the last time we faced them in the semi playoff. That was terrible and humiliating as a buckeye we came so far not but not close enough. Til next year we'll see what happens
Timothy Bowling Cardale’s running was the biggest game changer. You could tell he was wearing down the Alabama defense. He was dishing out a lot of punishment lowering the shoulder.
That was the best catch I think I have ever seen by Spencer towards the end of the 2nd quarter, awesome just awesome!!! that is all that is needed to explain that catch.
This game was probably the most satisfying win in my lifetime as an Ohio State fan, and it all boils down to how much I respect the Alabama Crimson Tide football program. The Tide have been the gold standard of college football over the last 10 years and it was extremely satisfying to knock them off on the way to winning a football national championship. Ultimately, I'll look at the following year as the biggest football rematch of all time that never happened, as OSU returned virtually all of their core players from the championship team however Bama came back to win it after that disappointing loss to MSU. In today's football hierarchy, it feels like it's Bama, Ohio State, Clemson, and everybody else when it comes to perennial success at the highest level... although Georgia has a chance to join the other three given that they play in the SEC which gives them "street cred" but are also out of the SEC East which is a division that they have a chance to really dominate going forward if they're able to capitalize from last seasons success. UGA has always felt like a program that's ready to ascend to the next level by instilling a little bit more discipline, team mentality and motivation in their players since they've routinely pulled in some of the top blue-chip players and in decent numbers for awhile now.
I never get tired of watching this game. Watching Ohio State outhit, outjump, out run, out physical, outsmart, and just flat out out play Alabama was a treat. The smug Alabama fans have no respect for Ohio State, and the Big 10 for that matter, and to watch us beat the pride of Alabama/SEC, right in their own backyard, was something special. They never in a million years thought they'd see their team get beat up like that.
@@nedstewart1 we played Georgia tough, probably should have won. Beat Alabama once, lost once. Beat Arkansas when they had a good team. 2 and 2 since 2010, we can hang with them now, our team since Meyer was here in 2012 is built different, specifically to compete with the SEC. I know SEC , the top 2 teams in any given year, are usually the 2 best teams in the country, i wont dispute that, but they can be beat occasionally, and we have the team to do it. You have to have an explosive, pass heavy offense, and team speed on defense. We have both, our defense really took a nose dive the last couple years, but its being addressed, it will be much better this year, just wait and see. The top 2 teams in the SEC are hard to beat, the rest on any given year are not much better than other conferences.
@@klaws32 Ohio State is better since Meyer and Tressel no doubt. Nothing stays permeant in college football. Florida State, and Nebraska had quite a run and were declared as Dynasties by the NCAA. Ohio State might be named a Dynasty if they can fix their defense. FSU was in the same shape with their offensive line as Ohio State's Defense and as a result became a mediocre team. Same thing sooner or later will happen to the Bucks. No one stays on top.
Let me say that this was a bittersweet game. May family is from Alabama, so I grew up a HUGE Tide fan. But I was born and raised in the midwest and went to Purdue (obviously). So, while I was disappointed in the results, the B1G fan in me was happy and proud to see tOSU do it's thing.
Ohio States w Urban Meyer beats ‘Bama w Nick Saban. These two coaches fought each other--Gators vs ‘Bama back in the days of Tim Tebow. Ohio is where I was born and lived to age 16 (Before moving to Utah--no I’m not Mormon.) so loving OSU! I got my undergrad and post grad classes at Univ of Utah. Then moved to Hawai’i in 1985. 2008--Hawai’i was slaughtered by the Crimson Tide in the Sugar Bowl...Most of us from HI were wearing slippahs (what you call flip-flops) and most were COLD. I had lived in Utah and had the requisite warm ski gear. An Hawai’ian neighbor said “I didn’t know snow and ice were so cold!” Well weather in HI is perfect--no snow or even cold weather. Never gets above 100 and never dips below 68. Jan, 2009--Utah Utes coached by Kyle Whittingham (who had been under Urban Meyer for 10 years as a defensive coordinator) became head coach when Meyer left in 2004 to go to Florida. The Utah Utes BEAT Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide 31-17...and it wasn’t close. Every time an Alabama fan sees me here in Atlanta, GA with my “Go Utes” license plate, they ALWAYS come up and make an excuse--“Oh we were tired from the SEC championship game.! One ‘Bama fan simply said “Utah was so much better! We were awful.” Urban Meyer made Utah a great team. We had no losses in three years and YET we were never named #1! Even in 2009 we ended up 12-0 vs “Bama’s 12-1. Yet they finished ahead of use in polls! Utes went from Western Athletic Conference (WAC) to MWC (Mountain West Conf) then onto the PAC-12 where we hold our own. Urban started at Bowling Green, OH where he was a special unit coach. Like Saban they both HATE mistakes as was seen here in this game! Meyer retired this year from his $7.6 million salary and multiple perks--own private plane, Golf club membership at one of Columbus’ best courses. to become an assistant head of OSU for $100K per year. (He’ll go nuts!) Jack Nicklaus went to OSU and all the courses esp the Scarlet and the Gray are superb courses. Nicklaus renovated both at no charge. Saban makes $7.5 million/yr and $400,000 increase each year PLUS substantial bonuses. In every state the highest paid salaries go to football and hoops coaches! Patently bizarre considering that the athletes get zip! Oh sure a free 4 year Bachelor’s--but finding time to go to class, study, and write papers is second to travel, memorizing the playbooks and two a day practices. College ball is a multi-billion dollar business. TIME TO PAY THE PLAYERS. Major League baseball has Rookie league, Single A to Trlple A...then The Show. Not football. Their “minor leagues” are college football and the NFL doesn’t pay a dime. No big salary to the deans of medical school or head epidemiologists at public health. Not the head economist that helps the governor and mayors with budgets. Heck the President of the US only makes $400K/yr--with unlimited time on AF1, and Marine One helicopters. Goes everywhere in a 13 car “parade” including an ambulance. The “Beast” the heavy armored personal car carries two bags of type-specific blood for the prez. Actually it’s time to end all American football. Too many head injuries resulting in CTE...one of the largest studies on the subject to date finds that 110 out of 111 deceased NFL players had chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a degenerative brain disorder associated with repetitive head trauma. Overall 87% of football players WILL get CTE! We turned Boxing into a nothing sport because the aim of boxing is to knock the guy out! That’s SEVERE damage to the brain!! The players with the worst CTE are NOT the wide receivers, but the D and O lines that get hit on every play. Don’t have to be knocked cold to get CTE. My good friend Junior Seau--nicest man you ever met...developed CTE, became violent and shot himself in the chest to die...so they could study his brain--CTE.
I’m an Alabama fan and I’ll be the first one to tell you that this Ohio State team was easily the best team in the country. Bama honestly had no business competing for a national title this year with poor QB play and an over reliance on Cooper.
Ahhh, the day that Bama fans got proven wrong but then the excuses started as to why the "overrated, non deserving" Ohio State Buckeyes beat the almighty SEC gods.
+Allamericanlibertarian just like how derrick henry won the Heisman because he's a good player but the minute you don't let him run Forrest Gump straight he sucks?
+Allamericanlibertarian or just like how blake sims sucks so bad he had to flee to Canada to play ball? or like how Nick Saban abuses running backs so much they have no chance in the NFL because a bet MR so much deserving Heisman himself flops in the NFL. That running back from Stanford by the name of McCaffrey is 10 better than henry is. But since henry played for the almighty Alabama red water (I'd rather be a nut that water as a mascot) he "won" it.
Well, think about that one. Without the Buckeyes, who did Alabama have to go through? But we have recent history to refer to. The SEC doesn't because they're too chicken to play in hostile territory.
***** Yeah. I just looked up the game again and I forgot Alabama was up 21-6 and then the Buckeyes won 42-35. Buckeye fans can act like they're Kirk Herbstreit all they want, but it really was close haha. 42-35 = 7. "It's not always about the score." Ok.
***** Yeah. It was a great 4th quarter for sure. Can't wait for the new season to start. I think the chances are low that Ohio State or Alabama lose in game one. I know Ohio State has that Monday night game, and it's away, but I'd be surprised if OSU loses.
***** Wow Auburn begins with Louisville, then an easy one with Jacksonville State, but then they go to LSU and back home with Mississippi State. That’d be amazing if they come out of that run 4-0.
+Douglas A. Benefield - "ignored by suckeyes." seriously? coming from the fanebase whom %80 of pretends like this game never happened? and overlooking the fact that we were playing with a 3rd-string QB? lol c'mon, guys.
I'm amazed at how bad Trey DePriest looked. This is a kid that was seen as one of the best Ohio LB products to come out in years and there he was looking like a very out of shape nose guard. Not only did he look bad from a size perspective but if you just lock your eyes on him during play, he looks lost. He's always hopping around back there and sort of just moving around aimlessly.
make739 interesting comment. strange that the dude started since at least a sophomore and maybe even a few games as a freshman. What's that say about the other LBs on the team?
Just read an article telling The Big Ten to come down south and play when its 98 degrees and 80 percent humidity lol. Got to be kidding me. A conference that plays in ALL weather conditions couldn't take the heat ,omg!
Its 90 plus degrees the whole summer...thats easy to go down south and play because we experience all seasons up here..not sure if they can come up here and perform well in our weather conditions
To beat Alabama and Oregon and 59-0 against Wisconsin with a 3rd string QB is INCREDIBLE. in my 48 years I have never seen a 3rd string QB start or win a national championship. To bad OSU didn't give Zeke the ball against MSU because OSU was much better than MSU and OU last year by a long shot just look at the NFL draft next to Miami best class EVER.
The evan spencer td pass was the same play they ran in the michigan state game, but spencer kept it and ran for a first down, Only way I would I know that is with all these 30 minute videos. They are awesome! you should do every game like this!
I'm a die hard ducks fan, And you guys where the better team I respect you guys and congratulate you guys on the huge win u had against us. You did us bad, Great season guys. And your having a good one to this season. Great job Bucks! #GoDucks
+Pow Nation In my opinion, had Alabama moved on, they would have beaten the ducks as well. Granted, it would have been pretty close but I just don't see Oregon winning that one.
I didn't see the actual game on TV. First time I have seen the game was this video. From what I read and heard TV analysts saying, I had thought the game was an Ohio State blow out. However, looks to me like this game could have gone either way. Alabama had a chance to tie or win the game at the end. Good game.
Good comment. As an OSU fan, I was nervous practically the entire game so for that reason I thought it could have gone either way. But watching the game live, it seemed like there were several times OSU let Alabama hang when they conceivably could have stepped on their throat. For instance, when they let Bama throw the deep bomb late in the 4th. Didn't happen all game but all of the sudden they give up a huge one at the end? Also, OSU gave Alabama short fields all night while having to go the entire length themselves. I think the general sense at the time was that OSU seemed to completely control the game (both at good times and bad times). They either moved the ball at will or stopped themselves with self-inflicted wounds. In other words, Alabama never really was able to go out there and say, "This is what we do, try and stop it." On the other hand, OSU did that all night. I think Alabama hung in there by capitalizing on OSU mistakes. Granted that's what good teams SHOULD do, but I think that's why it felt like it could have been a blowout if OSU made less mistakes.
KingJugganaut09 Too bad you can't use the English language properly. it would have given your rant more credibility. Its obvious the only college you went to was the college of hard knocks.
I love how if that other returner on the opening kickoff didn't realize it was a live ball. Ohio States's first play would have been a touchdown the second they picked up the ball. (Dear Saban, please work on special teams a bit...)
Austin Oracle you don't have to buy into anything. You can literally watch the play and see lack of discipline from the returner. (On an incredibly basic part of special teams by the way)
It is interesting that Alabama had their Center and one Linebacker in this game from Ohio , and perhaps they had more of them from Ohio. If Ohioans are "slow" as they often say, why recruit them?!
That LB was one of the worst on the field for Bama in this game. The center did alright, but his play these past two seasons hasn't knocked anyone's socks off.
Smileyfacedkiller And Saban was born in WV. He's still an SEC coach. Meyer cut his teeth and gained his reputation coaching at Florida, which is why OSU paid him so much to come there. Either way, good luck with your upcoming season.
(18:50) was the defining moment of the game and it completely changed everyone's fate. When a defensive linemen intercepts the ball for a return touchdown in a very tight game,, it changes the momentum of the game for good. Terrible decision by Sims, it was 27-21 and Nick Saban likes playing a conservative game...throw the ball where only your WRs can catch it. That single play energized OSU's defensive, eased pressure on OSU's offense, built lots of pressure on Alabama's offense and demoralized Alabama's defense who was playing okay prior to that play. It gave Ohio St a double digit lead and the confidence and inspiration to secure a win that night.
