Hey Brad! No sir, no notching the frame. Really easy install. Just pay close attention to the rear and how you drill it. Love it. With 27” tire I gained 3” of clearance and it it makes a big difference. Safe riding!
Suggestion - at 19:30, a slight inward bend on those stock tabs would create some tension on the spacer and retain it in place while you to slide the bolt in. Might eliminate all the other work.
Thanks Ken for the video. It made my install much easier. Have you had any noticeable issues since you installed yours. Axles or center of gravity ,suspension ect. I have not had the opportunity to test mine off Road yet, just around the block in my neighborhood. Thanks again.
Hi! No, not any issues. Love the extra clearance! Made a good difference for the stuff we ride in, through, over. The great thing about the Teryx is that low center of gravity. Ride hard, ride safe! Happy Easter!
About to do my rear. I was riding on just the front lift with 0 issues. But now i am about to get 28s i want to do the rear. I saw someone do the rear with only drilling one hole and using 1 nut and bolt. Anyone else do this?
I have not. Now, you do only have to drill one on each side, so I am thinking you're asking about drilling a hole only on one side of each bracket? Interesting thought.
Did you notice if the lift is causing too much angle on the axles? I tried these lifts in the past and it sounded like the axle was popping out on some bumps when the a-arms extended
Hey Daniel! Yeah it did. Very happy with the kit and an easy install; if you avoid the dumb mistake I made on the first rear bracket install. My follow up video explains the discrepancy I had on the back measurement. Ride hard, have fun and stay safe!
trail rider Well that’s weird. No, no spacers and has never rubbed at all. The kit I got says it can handle up to 30”s, which I will get next year on 14” rims. That is really strange that yours does. They’re already pretty wide but I would not use more than an inch if you do decide to run them.
Hey Jonathan! Yes, you want to unbolt the top and bottom of the hubs. Drill from the front and backside. If you try to drill the front and the rear hole from one direction, you will most likely be off center. (Like I explained how screwed up the first time). 😊 Let me know if you have anymore questions.
I strongly recommend NOT getting this kit. I had to grind the rear HL brackes and teryx control arms. I structions were brutal. Metal for brackets is really soft. I have made go karts before sxs existed and my father had 60,000 foot machine shop and i would have been embarrassed to create a product with this poor quality. I thought people were just having issues because they didn't know how to use tools. Avoid this lift!!!
