Man it's so satisfying to go through rough terrain with a big truck. But what's wrong with the sound? I'm assuming it's the microphone and not the car

+maximus9401 The thumping sound like at 6:30? I believe it's something called crawl control, to get out of deep sand and stuff. They were probably just testing it though idk

Omar Rodriguez there's all sorts of weird sounds throughout the video. Some of it may be the car but I think maybe it was the onboard mic of the GoPro

Awesome video! Very nice of Toyota to allow you to beat it up off-road and drive through some trees lol. Excellent off road vehicle, I was hoping to see some more uphill use of the crawl control in and out of the vehicle. I'm guessing this is probably the only SUV on the market that comes properly equipped for off road use from the factory floor.

The Jeep Wrangler does as well.. Specifically the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. That thing is a beast. I'm actually shopping these two vehicles now.. Hard to decide.. Both awesome. I think the Jeep may be more capable offroad but the Runner better for the daily drive and towing. Both have the highest resale value of all cars btw.. Almost 60% of msrp value after 5 years.. That's incredible.. No losers between the two..

+StratNut2008 Its hard to beat the 4Runner or the Wrangler in resale value and the Rubicons beefier axles are a better choice than the other Wranglers but the hard choice is picking between the crapy V6 in the Wrangler or the workhorse under the hood of the 4Runner. Jeep should've never replaced the old 6 cylinder from the last Wrangler with this Pentacrap.

'Winding Roads' come in all shapes and sizes! . You can even make your own 'winding roads' across very rough ground! ... Yes, I am joking ;-) .. Good job, guys. Reminds me of when I had a Toyota Hilux 4x4 flatdeck with off-road tires.

this may sound like a corny question but just got to ask it, I see that this truck has Navigation in it, but since you took it off-road here, did it still actually work, meaning did it actually show a map on the screen of the trails that you were on??????

Kori Whitchurch Crawl Control was activated which lets the car control speed. Those were the brakes kicking it. It's very loud.

And sadly classical body on frame suvs like this are likely gonna extinct in the future because most people nowadays just want a poor little fwd hatchback that looks like a "suv" which burns more fuel but goes slower and lack of the ability of actually off roading
