I would love if they were able to put the AWD system in (4-Motion?), and for those that haven't driven the DSG VW automatic trans, it's great, I had the 2008 R32, and traded it in for a 2014 Jetta GLi Edition 30, which has less torque than the same engine in the GTi, and the normal Jettas with the 2.0L turbo's, I don't know why....the trans doesn't blip the revs up when it senses your car is going to automatically downshift, or maybe the power difference (only 40 HP) is the difference but I don't think so. I think it's VW just being out of contact with driving enthusiasts and/or just were cheap with the trim in my Jetta GLi Edition 30. In the United States we can't even get the Scirocco, and honestly, if it were available in the way I would want it, AWD, the awesome brakes of the R32, I would buy it would still be laughed at by others. Look, my 2008 R32 did not even have a glove box light, did not have full power seats, (you had to Van Halen "Panama" to adjust the seats, "Ah, you reach down, between my legs, ease the seat back."....), the seat back angle was power I think, but I think the lumbar was a crank handle, sorry, can't remember. How long have cars had self dimming rear view mirrors, yes....it was an option in some Porsches costing $700 a few years ago, maybe still, but come on, that should be a freebie. The Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Traffic Alert or an equivalent was available in 2014 Audi's...I keep saying it...but I'll say it again, I will never buy another VW (nor Porsche, I have 2, a Boxster S and a Panamera GTS....the VW is my commuter car)......One question to "Karage TV" who posted this nicely made video and your car is beautiful, you said the car is "pricey", I can't recall your exact verbiage, but can you give me an example of why it's pricey? I see all the videos and I have been to London many times, and I see plenty of Dubai, or plates from nearby countries, and my perception is "money grows on the desert plants"....
When folding the rear seats down.... doesn't the "seat" part fold up against the front seats first so the backs can be laid flat? (like every other car in the known universe???)
Because the Americans they took to much ( ford is better chev is nicer ) so if I was the owner of the European cars I will not send my cars to America only for the good guys like you they can have what the want 😂😊😉
nice review. I live in Bangkok - thai's have an obsession for the 3 pointed star - VW's just don't do it for them so used Scirocco's are fairly cheap. Buying a 3 year old 2.0 TSi or R in the new year.
+comedyman112 just over £20,000 ..not sure what that is in euros. you have to realise the crazy import duties on western cars. A new Golf R will cost around 55-60K ..!
I don't know where "here" is, but in America, VW considers this competition against their own Golf GTI line. I don't see it that way, but that's the reason. I also believe this VW would substantially exceed pricing over the GTI.
@@Coupydog But it's weird that they only think it would cannibalize GTI sales in the US and not Europe for example. Also, a GTI with similar mileage from the same year is much more expensive, simply bc most young guys buy the GTI for status in Europe
Just saying if you ever go for 2 door car dont expect room... LIKE EVER... i dont get it guys comparing sedan space with coupe .... ferrari vs volvo hmmm... wonder who wins. Driving any supercarr will cause issues with rear view. If you want this type of car use side mirrors which is the better option in both cases. Just to share my exp with the car AMAZING i cant wait for scirocco 2022
This car would sell if they brought it to North America. VW doesn't want too because they think it would hurt GTI sales, but they don't realize that the GTI and Scirocco buyer are 2 different sets of people. Plus with the diesel scandal, they need to find new ways to attract customers (now that their image is tarnished).
i thought vw are great until i drove a vtec honda type r engine vw just seems heavy compare to honda type r is all about racers car not for those who had weak hart
