drive.google.com/file/d/15qh_HitZpqQiylPCRBWz-6NOfRndhgC1/view?usp=drivesdk FOR 2015 WRX model, pick up your stock car radio photo and stock camera photo from this link, make sure to buy a correct stereo for your car without mistake.
Bro you just saved me a lady messaged me and thought she wanted photos for a review I re read the txt and realized what she was asking solely bc of this video I realized thank you
I ordered the Idoing from WRX Daily as well and accidentally ordered the 2015 base one instead of the 2016-2021 one because I didn’t know. I emailed them a few hours after I realized and let them know I was trying to cancel my order so that I could order the correct head unit. Hopefully they can get back to me and I can get sent the correct one.
Bro I just got my HU installed, I have an STI 2015 base model, I can’t get the reverse camera to show on the HU, should it work just out of the box? Is there any settings I may have to enable?
I’m so glad this video could help you! And yes I did. It does not interfere with the back up camera because it is on a separate screen, and my steering wheel controls work great!
All the small connectors should be plug and play if you have the right head unit from idoing… if they aren’t, the kit should come with short adapter plug and play adapters.
I’m trying to figure out about the base speaker system and harman kardon. I have a 2015 Wrx Premium and have the same stock radio you have. Any idea which one I should choose
If you buy the head unit from a reputable source it should come with the cables… but also this one is meant to work with your factory harness so most of it should work out of the package.
The Bluetooth connection issue is a simple software update from Idoing. They sent me videos on how to and walked me thru it. I'll see if I still have them
I have the older one and I ordered direct through idoing and they also texted me and emailed me about which model I had. Glad they did, because I almost bought a newer one from someone local and it probably would not have worked for me. Only question I have for you, which I have yet to find, that wire pack you opened that says wrx forester old, did you use those wires at all? They also included it when they shipped mine, but I still don't see what would connect to them.
Never mind, I found the info in the below comments with a video, it appears thats how you get the backup camera to work with the head unit. Thanks for your video, glad I found something about the slight differences between the newer vs older, because most every video I've seen has been for the newer model.
I received a different looking unit for my base 2015 WRX. The cable that came with it doesn't appear to plug in anywhere. drive.google.com/file/d/1KFJg1UXP2hlfWUHPhETfmb-25fYsW-Bb/view?usp=sharing
We couldn’t access the drive link, but we can tell you that not all of the cables that we received with ours were used. Some are for features we didn’t need or want (like the Wi_Fi)
@@gridengine drive.google.com/file/d/1KFJg1UXP2hlfWUHPhETfmb-25fYsW-Bb/view?usp=sharing Hopefully that works. I don't believe the main connectors work for this. It's a different number of pins.
@@gridengine I’m currently having issues with my vents not fitting properly and since I have the 2015 model the radio doesn’t come with some needed cables for the head unit so I’m not sure what to do.
If you have any questions about how exactly the cables get plugged in, as I say in this video, watch the video boost & shutter did on this head unit. Start at 5:10. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kc45z8a8hHw.html
I think the grey usb is not necessary unless you want the dual usb plugs. I only used the single usb because it works better with Android auto and Apple CarPlay
None of the provided cables are for the steering wheel controls. The steering wheel controls plug directly into the back of the stereo from the OEM wiring harness In the dash
