I’ve got this bike. I love it. I also have a 2014 GSXR 750. I still prefer my FZ-07 on daily riding. The bike is so so smooth. I’ve got 15,000 miles on it and only 3500 on my gixr. Just shows how much I love the FZ
I rode the FZ07 and I loved the bike. It was very touchy but it was amazing to ride. Also I'm 5'8 and I can flatfoot for once on a bike that I like. I also like the ninja 636 and if I had to pick. I would buy both. Ride safe dude.
I've had mine for a year now. I don't understand why people are complaining about the brakes. Mine have been great. Ya, it would be nice to have ABS, but the brakes are fine. I've had to slam on mine more than a few times, so I know from experience. I ride everywhere I go unless it is raining. The suspension is lacking though, but there are easy fixes for that now if you are smart enough to use google to search for them(although I have not changed mine yet). Stock exhaust changes pitch over time and does get louder.
ive watched this video multiple times and nothing has made me want an fz07 more than you AK! Chase did a good one but you totally sold it. plus i live in gtown so i recognize all the streets youre driving on so it brings it home. well done
Just got my FZ 07, restricted to 35kw because EU but im already in love with it. So much tourque. I can go uphil on 2k revs in 3rd and it still pulls. I agree though that you need a windshield on the highway, already at 60 mph it starts to get a bit annoying with the wind
All Ducati's are twitchy. They don't have proper fuel mapping below 4500rpm. Owned a 2007 ST3 and traded it in in less than a year for a 2006 Honda Interceptor that had 864 miles on it. Best decision I ever made. Last new bike was a 2011 Ninja 1000. Had the factory heated grips and factory Givi side cases added, then put on a Puig touring screen, MRA deflector, Pazzo levers, Sargent seat, and full race dual exhaust Akropovic system. Best bike I ever owned. Most comfortable bike I ever owned? A 1982 Yamaha Secs 650 Turbo. Bike of choice right now is my 1986 Yamaha SRX-600. But this FZ-07 is tempting. I've owned the FZ-1. I had a 2003. I'm same as you - 6'2", 175#. Question - is that a Zero Gravity widescreen?
Ahhh the bike i want next year :D My KLR650 isnt great at 60+ mph so I need one for long distance 60+ cruises, Akrapovic makes amaazing exhauast for the FZ-07's
TheAK47s Hey man, I don't know if you remember me, but we met 2 years ago at the Oasis parking garage. My friend and I came to meet ya'll cause we liked your bikes, you had the green zx6r and your friends both had black r6's. We filmed you doing burnouts, then our boss came and yelled at us, haha. Anyways, ever since that day, I told myself that I would eventually get a sportsbike. So yesterday I went out and got a 2005 ninja zx6r! It needs some work, but I love it already. If you're ever in the Austin area we should ride sometime, my name's Chris :)
Great review! Subbing to check out the rest of your videos later. Finally going to pick up my FZ-07 tomorrow and can't wait to ride! Will probably be another week or two before my basic rider course certificate comes in for me to go get my M class so will have to wait but can at least sit on it haha. And it's a parallel twin (inline 2 cylinder) not a v-twin FYI.
I don't know why people complain how cheap this bike is, for the price of this bike it's not expected to have ABS or amazing suspension I own one and I love it best money spent.
E2Moto I'm torn between a DRZ400SM or a FZ07 for my first bike. If I get DRZ I'm going to keep it for a while and buy a Crotch rocket around a year or 2 down the road but if I get FZ07, Imma sell it when I buy a crotch rocket. You got any advice to help me?
I personally don't see the point in buying a crotch rocket if you own a powerful naked bike since they're nearly as fast. I'd say buy the DRZ as your first bike since supermotos are pretty forgiving bikes, and they're fun to ride and push hard. I'm also not into sport bikes since I will never trade handling for speed, so when I pick a bike for speed I wanted to make sure that handling is still up there. I've heard naked bikes are the best of both worlds between sport bikes and supermotos. The FZ-07 is a hit or miss for new riders, IMHO, because while it's a 600cc naked, it only has two cylinders unlike most (if not all) 600cc sport bikes that have 3 cylinders.
E2Moto I'd rather have a Crotch rocket and Supermoto than just a naked bike. I want to be able to have a good balance. Kinda like Motonosity. He has a CRF450SM and a R1
Caleb Whitted There you go, you got it. I'd say start with a DRZ, and then buy a fast crotch rocket later on. It's all preference, really. I'm never the type who will compromise handling for speed so for me, the FZ07 will be my fast bike, and will be pretty much settled after getting both bikes.
You should test a KTM 690 Duke. Single cylinder, more grunt, better fuel mileage, lower revving. Pricier than the FZ. Thumpers have a uniquely badass sound.
+Mark Nguyen ---- Yes, and a more relaxed rpm at highway cruising speeds. Similar to the gearing of the BMW G650GS. A single is also notoriously going to have more low end, off the line torque, but less at the top of the rev range and also a lower redline. Both the FZ and the KTM are wheelie monsters.
OK, I'm now truly confused as to what to get. I have 40K miles under my belt. Now, I've seen reviews for the XSR900, the FZ09, FZ07. And, it looks like I have to go through yet, another season WITHOUT A BIKE , because of all the reviews. Oh, I've also been looking into a sport tourer, the Suzuki Bandit. All those bikes, and I can't decide.
+Kevin I had FZ07 for 2 years and I just signed a deal for a new FZ09. I'll swap the FZ07 for the FZ09. It was a great bike in every aspect but I just wanted more power and the FZ09 delivers just that. If you are coming from a GSX-R 600 I'd strongly recommend the FZ09 since it has about the same amount of power. But a lot more torque, bro. You will feel the difference night and day since the FZ09 pulls all the way through the range while your Gixxer only wakes up in the high range. FZ07 is equally if not more comfortable it just has quite a bit less punch. So if you really don't mind the power difference between the two bikes go for the FZ07 since it is cheaper.
Ive been thinking between the 2016 dorsoduro 750 abs and the 2016 fz-07 abs does anyone have an advice? especially good if anybody has riden it before....imma be using them for adventure touring and some commuting.
7:50 This is exactly how I feel every time I ride this bike, can't help but smile. Side note, any chance you know what kind of wind screen that is? I'm 90% sure it's a Givi. I like it. Also I did a quick sound check on my channel with an aftermarket exhaust if you'd like to hear it. Nice review, sub'd.
ahahaha, its going to kill you if you turn the throttle wrong. im getting on of these next week. I was going to go FZ1, but decided to go smaller, cheaper on gas, and lower too the ground. Im watching these videos to see what the bike is like on the go, before i get one. Im getting the black and white one.Dammit, you had me at, Please pick me. Poor little bike needs a home.
What do you think is the better value fz09 or fz07? I want kind of a jack of all trades: something for commutes to work, something fairly quick, but is also comfortable enough for short highway trips (~100mi). Money isn't an object, what would you guys pick?
go to Yamaha and test them both. nothing can help you more than see, smell and feel a bike. Only from watching reviews you can't make a decision. feel it, drive it, love it
+Richard Leston I'd go for the FZ09 if money isn't an issue since that extra 40 hp makes all the difference in fun and grin factor. That's what I did after owning the FZ07 for 2 years. It was still a fun bike but you get used to the power really quickly.
+Jesse Smith yeah, you could ride it. However, I am 6' and I have heard that the bike looks small compared to me. And also the handlebar feels to close. I would definitely recommend a test drive
i've been watching all of your videos just tu get an idea if I should buy the fz-07 or the 09! Is just that in my country the fz-07 cost $12000 and the fz-09 $14000. I'm still thinking about it!
+Sharp Yea, it's a great starter bike. I bought a white one a week ago as my first bike and I love it. The power is very controllable but when you just want to go fast, the bike just hauls ass and you're holding on for dear life. I'm so glad I got this over a 250/300.
+Sharp I am not so sure it is a good starter bike. It has a plenty of power even when restricted to 35 Kw. Also, most people drop their first bike... Usually more than once and basically until you learn to ride properly, you will most likely damage the bike a lot. So my advice would be to start on an old cheap bike and then after you've learnt to ride it and react at lower speeds I would move up I'm no expert though. Just my opinion
