Drum stick tricks are not necessary any drummer can do them but choose to not too. She is a great drummer but so is Sina and Vela plus Junna is not bad either
I've wanted to learn for years. I can listen and tell you exactly what's happening... I just can't get my 4 appendages to work independently just yet. My friend, who plays drums, told me the only way to develop that independence is to sit behind the kit and go.
2:44 I just thought, " what will she do if the wand flies away?-... and she immediately took out another one from somewhere and didn't even stop for a second! I love her!
Its an ancient tibetan drumming technique, called Play Fast, Play Hard, and Always Carry Another Stick. Drummers have studied this wisdom for centuries.
If it makes you feel better, I'm sure her parents are disappointed that it wasn't piano or violin. I know I would be. It's sad that they even allowed her to expose their shame in public.
I have read comments of a street performance she had years ago. Some comments of people watching her: In my 52 years I have not had the 4 minutes of absolute joy that this young lady has. God bless her. I've watched this video over a hundred times and I am not bored. The way she twirls the sticks, the way she plays, the way she enjoys while playing and her lovely and beautiful looks can't be described in words. The whole crowd is just hypnotized by her performance. It's been years since i watched this but it's still one of the best performances out there When it comes to playing instruments, playing "complexly" and having more "difficulty" really doesn't matter. As a multi-instrumentalist myself (drums, guitar, piano) I've learned that what really matters most of all is to you enjoy yourself fully. Sure she may not be the greatest drummer, but she's better than those who try to play complexly, focusing so much on this that they don't even look like they're enjoying. She's playing according to her character, purely to have fun, and the crowd as well as the people here are entertained by her flare. The stick flicks and all the extra things she and some people do even if it aren't the drums are just them enjoying it much more, being outside the realm of 'proper' rules and adding their stuff and style into the music. And because of this, I'm happy for her and am very entertained by her performance. She is what a true musician is. For someone who has seen John Bonham and Roger Taylor, Billy Cobham and Ian Paice, Clive Bunker and Danny Seraphine live and in person in the 70s, I can safely say that S.White is MORE entertaining than ALL of them! What a talent you have! Absolutely thrilling to watch your performances - your best and most visually emotive performance is "Stronger" with your red hoodie on. A big hello from London!
Beg to differ. She might be extremely good at one sole thing, but you can choose to be mediocre or simply bad at a lot more things which is just as much fun...
Her and Vela Blue's both positive vibes are insane, and their both friend's pushing each other's skill limits. Vela Blue is an all around instrumental queen and vocalist.
This video was the first one I saw, and I was enchanted by the vibration of the drummer, because she plays with gusto, totally body and soul in the music, one realizes that she loves what she does, congratulations !!! I signed up for the channel !!! Success!!!
Há 05 anos vejo sempre esse vídeo, porque é pura inspiração: amor, paixão, técnica, dedicação, alta performance, Trabalho duro, maestria, diversão, plasticidade e com cobertura de alegria! Muito obrigado!
When you play this energetic with a genuine smile and with such pleasure, people won't even ignore the mistakes and off beat moments that she made. And to be honest, I would rather seen an imperfect performance from someone that enjoys this much in what she does over a professional whose face remains static. You go girl, do what you want. Be happy, all that matters in this world.
I'm still learning and having fun with the drums and your comment has inspired me and has motivated me in so many ways i thank you dear stranger :) I hope you have a good luck in life and i hope your family and friends are safe.
Awesome drumming, I think it's the first time I see a girl being so good on the drums and enjoying every second of her playing. Wintersun's drummer sent me this :D
That crowd was terrible! Some of the best drumming I've ever seen. Think about how much worse we are at everything in our lives than she is with those drums. Amazing.
It's the culture. They silently scream but do not show it because it's not polite. They applaud after the performance formally. My husband is like that doesn't show emotion but says he screams his head out silently. He is part Chinese.
It's asian culture. Being loud, cheering, clapping, dancing, etc during the performance would take the experience from others and/or she could mess up her rhythm. You don't go there to listen others clap or dance; you go to hear her play drums. It's disrespectful to take attention away from the performer, so we hold it in and wait till the end to applaud. If anything, they appreciate the performer more by being silent and listening to the performance.
