I totally agree, i’m from chicago and i’ve been a fan since 2010, i’m so gifted to be able to go to the joe once. I went for the 4th to last game vs the wild. The final OT winner in the Joe. God the joe is so special to me and to every red wings fan. I’m sure
Its times like these I will never forget. Like many who grew up loving our team we grateful for the good times we all got to experience, like always goodbyes are never easy. Thanks for the memories Joe.
I wanted to go see the final game...but due to me being in the airforce I couldn't go home...i only saw one game there...but it was the last time I was with my father before he died...the joe is special to me and it always will be
Greatest games in Joe Louis Arena regardless of sport include Esa Tikkannen's miss in Game 2 of the 1998 SCF, Fight Nights at the Joe between the Detroit Red Wings and Colorado Avalanche in 1997 and 1998, Steve Yzerman's blast past Jon Casey in Game 7 of R2 of the 1995 SC Playoffs against the St. Louis Blues and the Bernard King-Isiah Thomas duel in G5 of the 1984 NBA Playoffs First Round series between the Detroit Pistons and New York Knicks.
Man I'll miss that place. I took my son for the 1st time in February 21st of this year. Z scored with 0.01 left on the clock in the 1st. I'll never forget it! It was a barn. And when we had good teams there was for sure a home ice advantage !
I'm not even a Red Wings fan(Rangers fan) , but I totally understand your sadness, Wings fans. This video is amazing. I really wish a 26th consecutive playoffs appearances, Wings fan. :)
I grew up going to the Joe for hockey games I dont remember it but I went to 5 or 6 games a year since I was born in 96...I love sports and have yet to find a stadium/arena that can match the pure electricity you see at the Joe...I left Detroit the same year and miss it daily...the Joe embodied what the spirit of Detroit was...yea we may be a broken city and not the nicest but you can sure as hell bet that we are one of the toughest thank you Joe
I'd rather just stay at Joe Louis . to many great memories to leave. let the pistons take the new arena they don't deserve it but really dreading seeing the red wings make the move.also the wings deserve there own arena I hate that they have to share it with basketball ,pistons haven't done anything right to put them in the same building as such a legendary sports team as the Detroit Red Wings. get basketball out of OUR HOCKEY ARENA !
Chase Adamski- I'm with you on being sad to see the Joe being retired man. It sucks to see such an iconic building full of amazing Wing moments go, but Jesus show the Pistons some love. The Pistons are a great franchise in their own right. 7 Eastern conference championships and 3 NBA Finals Championships. It's going to be awesome to see two of Detroits teams share the same roof in my opinion. How can you be a die hard Wings fans but resent the Pistons that much? They're from the same city lol.
Chase Adamski Pistons are a great NBA franchise three titles when alot of teams don't have one Pistons have history it might not be on par with the redwings but they are great as well
truthseeker89 for life k we obviously support our teams but tbh no one gives a flying fuck about the pistons or basketball in general here, there are fans but hockey out wieghs it by a ton, they can build their own arena
