I have this version BMW X1 (F48) nearly the same build and color scheme. I highly recommend this car but above all, I recommend the following packages: -Premium Pack: LED Headlights, Panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting are great!-Luxury Pack: Real leather seats -Driver's assistance pack: As they said, no rear camera...why BMW. -Tech Pack: ONLY if you care about the larger navigation screen. HUD is ok...and navigation on your phone is still faster and more efficient. Options: -I skipped on the Harmon Kardon but after driving the car for ~5000 miles, I do regret not purchasing the upgrade for $875-Also, the sliding and reclining rear seat adjustment for $300 is a great option I failed to tick on my options list. Giving your rear passenger more space and ability to lay back a little. All in, quite an expensive small crossover but you pay for what you get!P.S. RU-vid won't let me separate the text into a organized paragraph. Sorry for the wall of text.
I bought same exact model including options and color shown in video. Harmon Kardon is worth upgrade. I test drove all 3 competitors and this is the best in this segment. The only down side is Turbo lag which is noticeable during complete stop start.
To solve the Turbo lag, you could put the transmission in "DS" mode which significantly reduces it but at the cost of efficiency. Of course, you could just get off the line and then put it back in "D" I do regret those speakers haha, I'm currently upgrading mine one piece at a time. I'm able to source pieces from the 2 series active model
how do the new F48 (2015+) handle and drive compared to the E84 models? I have a 2013 and LOOOOOVE it. But also love the new styling updates of the F48's. I'm debating whether to upgrade but I no my car is RWD biased with hydro steering, apparently it's much better feeling than the newer F48's....
Micah, Would you buy the x3 or x1? I am trying to decide but I'm so conflicted. X3 is bigger but looks really dated to me at least, the x1 is smaller but looks so fresh.
AngieMusicArt I used to have a X5 and I used to pay almost 400 with progressive but I was young back then and I think they used to go by age my driving record wasn’t the best but it was decent enough
I don't think anyone really cared anyway lol... I just thought it was funny coz it reminded me of my apprenticeship youth in a garage when I'd call something a 'flux capacitor' to piss my boss off lol
The backup camera is standard on the $15000 Jetta, but not available on the $40000 Audi A4 Komfort Trim. Yeah that's right, and you can't even add it as an option until you move up to the Progress Trim.
cx-3 is way too small even in sub compact segment. new X1 is biggest sub compact Crossover in terms of interior space, so you can compare it with cx 5.
It’s fun to drive, but it’s too tiny tbh. Visibility out of the back isn’t very good either. The piano black also scratches just by looking at it. Buy something else.
random guy lol yea right I've been to bmw they go for 42k to 49k because alot of options aren't standard. like leather or phone integration. Buy this used and you'll be getting it closer to what is worth.
I can't believe heated front seats and a backup camera are optional, I would much rather have a Hyundai Tucson with those things standard and it's better looking.
+sunil varma datla BMW is a luxury car. Heated seat should be standard. heck, hyundai elantra have heated seat for the rear passenger and that car is 3 times cheaper than BMW x1
wait, the fact that we even use the word BMW & plastic in the same sentence is wrong. I don't care if it's high quality plastic or not because it's still plastic at that. A German automaker who prides itself on quality sure needs to revision themselves
I guess you haven't sat in a recent lower end BMW. A Kia Optima SXL has a much nicer interior than a BMW 340i....at a $25,000 delta in cost, but also a large delta in performance. BMW's mainstream offerings have simply never had a nice interior.
+FudgeRevolution I still think BMW interior doesn't scream luxury at all. You have to step up to the 6 series and 7 series to get luxury stuff even still the interior still pale compared to a Toyota and Honda and to me thats sad. At least Audi and Mercedes give you luxury feeling from their lower end model to their top end.
Pretty much. Though the CLA is much worse interior quality wise compared to a Civic. Toyotas are pretty bad as well. The Camry and Corolla are both horribly cheap with plastic fantastic interiors.
+FudgeRevolution true but at least the CLA was made for teenager's that can't afford the C-Class. but BMW just seem like its the 90's with their interior
its really embarassing to drive X1 even if its BMW brand. Why do i have to drive cheapest model and pay over $40k. There is nothing to brag about it. X6 model sounds luxury but X1?? hahahaha
I have a 2017 BMW x1. It's rear seats are inhospitable and worst. Short thigh support, steep incline, makes it unusable, the suspension is also very stiff, and give a Jarry ride, much worse than any Toyota car of half it's price. Its a hoax and BMW just cheating money by showing these reviews
How about someone that needs a fun, good looking SUV that doesn't look like they were made for soccer moms and isn't very wide due to the fact that the roads that they usually travel on are crowded so they might scrape other cars. Plus having a very long car would be difficult to park. If you've been to NYC then you'd know what I'm talking about.
your are absolutely right people who buy a X3 cant afford a X5 and people who buy a 3-serie cant afford a 5-Serie BMW. And in general people who buy bmw or mercedes cant afford a Porsche... and people who buy Porsche cant afford a Ferrari and people who buy ONE ferrari maybe cant afford TWO ferrari? who knows?
You right. I could never tell the different. BMW m6 grand coupe is the only car i can spot from miles away and knows its the m6 series because it seem wider than the 7 series.
Actually there is a plenty of cheap plastic: clunky glove box, the cheapest sun visors I ever seen in my life, back of the seats is all covered with horrible plastic, etc. Hell, 2017 Mazda CX-5 interior materials feel much better. And guess what, blind spot monitoring is not available at all in this Ultimate Driving Machine, not in 2016 model, not even in 2017, so ultimate my ass. KBB is just another biassed sell out whom reviews one can not trust.
